With modbus communication, technical data QZAZ-05-95 Wall mounted room controller with display that allows controlling one or more units in Master/Slave mode. The control is equipped with internal sensor to detect the room temperature, which can be defined as a priority compared to the return air sensor on the fan coil. The QZAZ-05-95 must be used together with electric board and it features the following functions: Applications QZAZ-05-95 Automatic or manual speed control for 2-pipe, 4-pipe & 2-pipe with electrical heater - ON-OFF switch. - Manual or automatic 3 speeds fan control switch. - Temperature setting. - Manual, centralized or automatic Summer/Winter switch - Operation mode setting (fan only, cooling, heating; auto for 4 pipe systems with mode selection depending on the air temperature). - Weekly ON/OFF program. - Time setting. - For standard & EC-motor QZAZ-12-bb The electric board is used to get Modbus RTU-RS 485 communication and to carry out different functions and adjustment modes. The electric board is used either together with wall mounted QZAZ-05-95 or Infra red remote control. These modes are selected by setting the configuration dip switches on the board: - 2/4 pipe system - Fan ON/OFF thermostatic control - Valve ON/OFF thermostatic control and continuous ventilation - Valve and simultaneous ventilation ON/OFF thermostatic control - Fan operation control depending on the coil temperature (cut-out probe fitted), which can be activated only in heating mode or heating and cooling mode - Automatic switch of the operating mode by means of water probe QZAZ-01-32 (optional) applied on the 2 pipe system - Seasonal switch by means of remote contact - ON/OFF of the fan coil by means of the remote contact (window or clock contact) - Electric heater control By activating the cut-out probe function, the fan is stopped in winter when the coil temperature is lower than 32 C and started when the temperature reaches 36 C. In summer mode, the fan stops when the temperature inside the coil exceeds 22 C and starts when it drops below 18 C. The following connections are located on the power board: Receiver for infra-red remote control QZAZ-05-95 wall mounted control RS 485 serial connection to manage several fan coils in Master/Slave configuration or to create a supervisory network. The electric board is included in the QFDK and QZHW. For QZB, QZSR and QZCC it can be ordered as an accessory. - QZB, QZSR, QZCC Standard motor Mounted unit QZAZ-12-24 ECM motor Not mounted unit QZAZ-12-25 Mounted unit QZAZ-12-22 Not mounted unit QZAZ-12-23 A group of units with electric control board can be connected via a serial link and can consequently be managed at the same time by just one QZAZ-05-95 wall control. By cons the group of units can t be connected to a BMS though the Modbus communication. 7 (18)

Using the special jumper present on the board, one unit must be configured as the master, and all the others as slaves. It is clear that the remote control must be pointed at the receiver on the master unit. To avoid problems, it is recommended to install and connect the receiver only on the master unit. One control for each unit One control for more units (20 units max.) (MAXIMUM LENGTH OF THE CONNECTION CABLE = (MAXIMUM TOTAL LENGTH OF THE CONNECTION 20 m) CABLE = 800 m) 8 (18)

QZAZ-01-bb Accessories QZAZ-01-30 Low temperature cut-out thermostat Funtions - For units working on heating only, installed in contact with hot water circuit - Stops the fan when water temperature is lower than 30 C and starts the fan when water temperature is higher than 38 C Used with QZAZ-04-20 & QZAZ-05-21 QZAZ-01-31 Change-over sensor CH 15-25 - Automatic summer/winter switch to be installed in contact with the water circuit - For 2-tube installations only (not to be used with 2 way valve) Used together with QZAZ-04-75 QZAZ-01-32 T2 sensor to be placed on the water supply pipe upstream 3 way valves (not to be used with 2 way valve) The QZAZ-01-32 sensor can be combined with MB boards to be placed on the water supply pipe upstream 3 way valves (not to be used with 2 way valve). The QZAZ-01-32 sensor must be used as described below: - Change-Over for 2-pipe system for the automatic switch of the operating mode. If water temperature is lower than 20 C, cooling mode is set; on the other hand, if water temperature exceeds 30 C, heating mode is set. - It can be used on units with electric heater and hot water supply. The T2 priority probe activates the electric heater or water valve, depending on the water temperature detected. If water temperature exceeds 34 C, the water valve ON-OFF control is activated; on the other hand, if water temperature is lower than 30 C, the electric heater is activated. example in conference rooms, where many people are present at the same time for a certain period of time. Controller modes STRA-07/17 can be configured for different controller modes/control sequences: Heating Heating/Heating Heating/Cooling via change-over Heating/Cooling Heating/Cooling with VAV-control and forced supply air function Heating/Cooling with VAV-control Cooling Cooling/Cooling Heating/Cooling with change-over for cooling When Bypass has been activated by a press on the Occupancy button, the controller will automatically return to the preset operating mode (Occupied or Standby) after a configurable time (FS=2 hours). If an occupancy detector is used, the controller will automatically return to the preset operating mode after 10 minutes absence. description Occupancy detector The controller is factory set to Heating/cooling. Choosing another sequence is easily done in the parameter menu in the display. Information on how to access the parameter menu and configure the controller, consult either the technical manual or the installation and maintenance folder. Operating modes There are five different operating modes: Off, Unoccupied, Stand-by, Occupied and Bypass. Occupied is the preset operating mode. It can be changed to Standby in the parameter menu in the display. The operating modes can be activated via a central command, an occupancy detector or the Occupancy button. Off: Heating and cooling are disconnected. However, the temperature must not drop below the set minimum temperature (Factory setting (FS)=8 C). Operating mode Off is activated on open window. Unoccupied: The room where the controller is placed is not used for an extended period, for example during holidays or long weekends. Both heating and cooling are disconnected within a temperature interval with configurable min/max temperatures (FS min=15 C, max=30 C). Stand-by: The room is in an energy save mode and is not used at the moment. This can for example be during nights, weekends, evenings etc. The controller is prepared to change operating mode to Occupied if someone enters the room. Both heating and cooling are disconnected within a temperature interval around the applicable setpoint (FS heating setpoint value=-3 C, cooling setpoint=+3 C). Occupied: The room is in use and is therefore in a comfort mode. The controller regulates the temperature around a heating setpoint (FS=22 C) and a cooling setpoint (FS=24 C). Bypass: The temperature in the room is controlled in the same way as in operating mode Occupied. The output for forced ventilation is also active. Bypass is useful for 15 (18) By connecting an occupancy detector, STRZ-09 can switch between Bypass and the preset operating mode (Occupied or Stand-by). The temperature is then controlled according to requirement, which saves energy and keeps the temperature at a comfortable level. EC fan control for STRA-17 EC fan control is always activated in the STRA-17. The function can be activated in the control modes Heating, Heating/ Cooling via change-over, Heating/Cooling, Cooling and Cooling/Cooling. Control of electrical heater The function for a heating battery works in sequence with the change-over. The change-over function will then be used to switch between Summer and winter mode. In Summer mode, the STRA-07/17 will function as a Heating/Cooling controller while, in winter mode, it will function as a Heating/Heating controller. The electrical heating battery will start only if the water heating battery cannot meet the heating demand. It is important to note that the STRA-07/17 doesn t have inputs for fan running status and heater overheat. These functions must instead be provided by a supervisory system. Change-over function The STRA-07/17 has an input for change-over to operate with heating or cooling function. The input can be connected to sensors of type PT1000 and have the sensor mounted so that it senses the temperature on the supply pipe to the coil. As long as the heating valve is more than 20 % open, or every time a valve exercise is performed, the difference between the media and room temperature will be calculated. The control mode will change depending on the temperature difference. As an alternative, a potential-free contact can be used. When the contact is open, the controller works with the heating function and, when it is closed, with the cooling function. CO2 control In control modes where VAV (Variable Air Volume) is chosen, dampers outputs are affected by the CO2 level. On increasing CO2 level the damper opens to increase the quantity of air, regardless of the temperature requirements of the controller. The damper starts opening when the CO2 level exceeds CO2 level for starting

opening damper, and is fully opened at CO2 level for fully opened damper. Fan control STRA-07/17 has a fan button. The speed is set with the fan button. When the fan button is pressed, the fan speed will step from the current speed to the next. The controller has the following positions: Auto 0 I II III Automatic control of the fan speed to maintain desired room temperature Fan off Manual position with low speed Manual position with medium speed Manual position with high speed. In operating modes Off and Unoccupied, the fan is stopped, regardless of the setting in the display. 16 (18)
