Play Supervisor Falmouth and Penryn Children s Centre Who are we and what do we do? Family Support Administration Play Supervisors run a number of services which follow the Early Years Foundation Stage. What are the sessions like? There are a number of different types of sessions, most of which last between 1-2hours. All sessions will cover one of the following: Personal, social and emotional development Physical Development Knowledge and understanding of the world Creative Development Communication, Language and Literacy Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy 0-5 year olds are welcome to sessions (some sessions however are age specific) with their parents/ carers/ grandparents/ childminders (older siblings allowed during school holidays). Family Support Workers offer free and confidential support to local families. How does Family Support Work? After an introduction over the phone or by letter a support worker can visit you at your home or in a mutually convenient venue. They can offer: Parenting advice Help accessing housing and benefit advice Signposting and information about a variety of services Maintaining positive links with schools A listening ear Enable parents to participate in the Common Assessment Framework General support Link to Children s Centre services and groups Please contact The Locality Office on 01326 311779 for further details. Children s Centre Administrators will be the first face you see when you enter the Children s Centre. Administration at children s centre sessions When you first visit a children s centre you will be asked by a member of the administration team to register with the children s centre. This involves filling out a registration form with basic details of you and your family. This helps us to develop services that you and your family may be interested to attend in the future. It also helps us to achieve our targets to secure future funding for the children s centre. All families who attend sessions run by the children s centre will be asked to sign in for the service. The service is free but donations (even very small ones!) would be appreciated to enable us to continue to offer this service.
