The wet adhesives have shorter flash-off times and the floor coverings have to be installed immediately, at the latest 30 minutes after application of the adhesive. The dry or pressure-sensitive adhesives have longer flash-off times and remain tacky even after the complete evaporation of water from the adhesive. Dependent on the backing of the floor covering (PVC, rubber, fleece, synthetic or jute fabric, etc.) the most suitable adhesive must be selected. The environmental conditions and the absorbency of the subfloor must also be considered because of their major influence on flash-off, installation and drying times.
