The Pallet Conveyor
On the right track right from the start The PalCo knows just how to handle pallets. And it does so without a fuss. For this undemanding conveyor operates quietly while consuming just a small amount of energy. With its clever control concept, it guides the palletisation process in highly-efficient lanes while simultaneously preventing downtimes occurring on the palletiser. And because the PalCo is both particularly reliable and very versatile, it can be seamlessly integrated into any line. High-quality, stainless-steel design: the PalCo conveyor system

Modules for direction changes Modules for direction changes Pivoting tables and corner stations join two or more conveyor sections with an L-type coupling, T-type coupling or a combination of both. When turntables are used, the pallet operating direction remains the same; with corner transfer units, it always changes from short-side leading to longside leading or vice-versa. Design features Supported on a stable and lowwear ball bearing rim Up to 270 rotation Easily accessible drive Precise final position Intrinsic safety thanks to the integrated guards Optionally available: Separate protective fence with door Integration in machine guards Roller pivoting table Section widths: 1,000 mm for pallet widths of up to 800 mm 1,200 mm for pallet widths of up to 1,000 mm 1,450 mm for pallet widths of up to 1,250 mm Roller pitch: 190.5 or 127 mm Can be combined with: Fixed and variable rails End stop Stoppers Centring unit for empty pallets Chain pivoting table Chain pitches: 700 mm, 860 mm, 1,000 mm or 1,260 mm Variable chain lanes (2 to 5 lanes) Robust conveyor chains Redirection radius: 80 mm Can be combined with: Fixed and variable rails End stop Stoppers Small crossovers Low-noise and low-wear chain guide
Modules for direction changes Corner station Section widths: 1,000 mm for pallet widths of up to 800 mm 1,200 mm for pallet widths of up to 1,000 mm 1,450 mm for pallet widths of up to 1,250 mm Chain pitches: 700 mm, 860 mm, 1,000 mm or 1,260 mm 2 to 4 chain lanes Maintenance-free lifting mechanism Optionally available: Pallet alignment Stopper Stops Fixed and variable rails Double corner station to split up or form two-lane conveyor sections or pallet clusters Intrinsic safety thanks to the integrated guards Turntable corner stations Turntable corner station with rollers and chain lift compensation for permanent or optional changing of the pallet direction from shortside leading to long-side leading or vice-versa All drives motorised Chain pitches, number of lanes, and transfer rollers depend on the chain conveyor Can be combined with rails/end stop Separate protective fence

Add-on modules Multiple infeed and discharge Robust infeed and discharge unit for compact pallet formations consisting of 4 GDB pallets, 6 Euro pallets or 12 Dusseldorf pallets Pallet infeed: Separation of pallet formation in rows by means of liftable and transversally moving lifting rakes Passing on of pallets via integral roller conveyor Pallet discharge: Pallet feed via integral roller conveyor Row-by-row grouping with a lifting rake Maximum throughput: 200 fullsize pallets per hour Comprehensive safety concept Travelling carriage Function: Transferring of pallets for distribution, collecting, and sorting For splitting up multi-lane conveyor sections, before depalletising for example. For forming multi-lane conveyor sections, after palletising for example. Fence guarding Can be combined with: All roller and chain conveyors All pivoting tables Optional: Lengthwise travelling carriage Bridges inexpensive, long conveyor sections with low throughput Creates pass-through openings within the conveyor sections
Drive, operation, control Control system A high line availability can only be achieved if an intelligent control system is used. This is why Krones has developed a clearly structured control system which enables optimal capacity utilisation. The wellthought-out arrangement of pallet storage postions and functional units achieves highly efficient pallet handling while simultaneously preventing downtimes occurring on the palletiser. On request, each segment can be equipped so that the controller will allow manual control. Reverse drives are also available for all units. The frequency inverters are controlled via Profibus or Ethernet. Drive technology Drive with spur gears Installation below the feed rollers and conveyor chains Options: Example of a laterally mounted drive with bevel gears Frequency inverter with decentralised technology via Profibus or Ethernet Operation Convenient operation by touchscreen with simple menu guidance and clear graphics Diagnostics system to pinpoint faults using system image Diagnostics support via drawings, images and help texts Wizard for troubleshooting Remote maintenance available using the remote service system Optionally available with control centre function
