Urea line; from tank to pump Marine SCR system for engines up to 600 kw Up to 90% NOx reduction Suitable for retrofit This system reduces NOx through selective catalysis with urea as the reduction agent. The urea will decompose to ammonia in the exhaust stream, which in turn will reduce the NOx on the SCR catalyst surface. Compressed air is used to achieve a high degree of urea atomization in the exhaust. This, together with the flow optimized mixer minimizes risk of clogging and guaranties the high level of performance and trouble free operation. The required amount of air is 25 l/min (NTP) with a minimum pressure of 4 bar (absolute). The system operates on fuel sulphur levels up to 1000 ppm. 7 Example of weighted NO x emission from E3 cycle (g/kwh) 6 5 4 3 2 1 2 0 Engine out With SCR marine

STT monitoring systems Control cabinet PC based software for system monitoring. Example of parameters that can be viewed and adjusted using the EmtecMapper Monitoring System: Setup the data logger and download logger data. View and clear error codes. View live system operation. STT Diagnostic Module All control cabinets are equipped with a diagnostic module integrated in the cabinet door. This display shows the system status and possible error codes. STT Control Room Rack The control room rack is useful in multiple engine installations. The control room rack works as a hub and collects data from all systems. 6

STT Emtec in brief The history of STT Emtec, headquartered in Sundsvall, Sweden, goes back to 1981. Originally involved in land based diesel engine technologies, the vision has always been to establish the company as one of the world leading technology providers in the field of emissions and engine performance systems, many of which have been developed in house. As well as providing after-market systems STT Emtec is a key component supplier to the world s automotive, marine and industrial engine manufacturers. Layout and original: Areskoog Reklam AB Print: Tryckeribolaget AB, Sundsvall, Sweden, October 2011 The move into emission control systems for the maritime sector is a natural progression from the automotive experience. It is obvious that the technologies from STT Emtec will contribute considerably to the shipping industry s emission reduction efforts.
