General Description Objectives This lesson covers how to autoprice and manually price a PNR. It includes instructions to autoprice an itinerary using Low Fare Finder. This pricing feature applies the lowest available fare to the itinerary based on booking class availability and fare qualification rules. Also included are entries to manually price an itinerary with custom pricing entries. At the end of this lesson, you will be able to Autoprice an itinerary with Passenger Type Codes Use Low Fare Finder Pricing and Direct Access entries Store a fare quote and attach a ticket record Manually price an itinerary using custom pricing entries Basic Worldspan Power Pricing, Power Shopper, and Power Flight Search Entries Basic Pricing Entry - 4P The basic auto-pricing entry is 4P. This entry displays the current date fare for each PTC in the PNR. Worldspan uses fare displays to determine the lowest applicable fare for the PNR based on the class of service booked and the PTC. The only requirement to display an autoprice is a sold segment. The adult PTC is assumed when a PTC is not specified in the PNR. 2684 Page 9-1 02/02
Introduction to Worldspan 4P prices a maximum of 16 segments, including surface segments, and 4 PTCs. Autoprice options can be added to the 4P entry. Waitlisted segments with no matching confirmed segments are included in the pricing attempt. If more than one waitlist segment exists for a city pair, the first waitlist segment is selected for pricing. PNRs with duplicate confirmed segments fail auto-pricing until duplications are removed. Itinerary Pricing Options The basic 4P entry can have options added to customize the pricing. All pricing entries start with 4P and only display the price. They do not store the price in the ticket record. Activity: Itinerary Pricing Options 1. Access HELP 4POPT and review the autoprice options. HELP 4POPT Passenger Type Codes All fares are filed with a specific PTC for one or more qualified passenger types}. When the PTC is present in the name field, and a 4P entry is made, the autopriced fare associated to that PTC is displayed. Some common PTCs are: SRC INF INS CNN CMP ADT Senior Citizen Infant without a seat Infant with a seat Child Companion Adult Page 9-2 03/02
MIL Autopricing Military Options can be added to the 4P entry without altering the rules of the fare. These options allow for a customized, autopriced record. Worldspan guarantees the fare if Fare Calculation Indicator (FCI) 9 prints on the ticket. The first step is to price the PNR as booked (4P) to determine if it can be autopriced. If the PNR cannot be autopriced, an error response is returned. Autopricing verifies routings and ATPCO rules. It calculates the lowest applicable fare based on the class of service, PTCs, departure date, return date, and ticketing date. Activity: Autopricing 1. Access INFO 4POPT and review the autoprice options index. INFO 4POPT Low Fare Finder Pricing Entries Low Fare Finder provides a method of checking an itinerary in the lowest applicable fare based on booking class availability. Review the following entries Entry 4P 4PLF 4PLF@ 4PLFB 4PLFB@ Explanation Prices the PNR as booked. Prices the PNR at the lowest available fare. Direct Access entry. Introduction to Worldspan 4PLFQ 4PLFQ@ 4PQ Checks the lowest fare quote without checking availability. Direct Access entry. Places the fare quote in the PNR with the agent sine and SID. This entry does not store the fare in the ticket record for ticket issuance. 4P* Stores the current day fare for ticketing later the same day. A ticket record is attached. Low Fare Finder (4PLF) Low Fare Finder verifies the lowest available fare for an itinerary. The following guidelines apply with Low Fare Finder (4PLF): A 4PLF entry checks only Worldspan availability for Direct Access, Direct Sell, and non-participating airlines. A 4PLF entry on an Airline Source participant checks the airline's availability. A 4PLF entry assumes the PNR is booked today and will be ticketed today. A 4PLF entry prices a maximum of 16 itinerary segments, 4 PTCs, and 9 fare break points. Low Fare Finder can be used to price open segments in a PNR. Activity: Low Fare Finder 1. Access HELP 4PLF and review the low fare finder entries. HELP 4PLF Page 9-4 03/02
Low Fare Finder Rebook (4PLFB) The 4PLFB entry rebooks the itinerary at the lowest available fare. PNR segments are changed to the class of service of the fare indicated in the 4PLF entry. The rebook message line displays REBOOKED. For Direct Sell participants, Worldspan rebooks the segments through the link even though 4PLF only checks Worldspan availability. Low Fare Finder through Direct Access (4PLF@) Low Fare Finder entries, followed by a change symbol, can be used to check the airline's actual availability through Direct Access. Low Fare Finder Quote (4PLFQ) The entry 4PLFQ displays the lowest possible fare. 4PLFQ does not check availability. Worldspan indicates the class of service to use for rebooking at the lowest possible fare. If the class of service is not available for any part of the itinerary, the rebook message contains an asterisk preceding the segment(s) not currently available. Low Fare Quote through Direct Access (4PLFQ@) The entry 4PLFQ@ displays the lowest possible through Direct Access even if the class of service is not available. The Stored Fare Quote, SFQ, entry adds fare data to the face of the PNR showing the fare quoted and the sine of the agent making the entry. The fare quote is stored below the TKG FAX line in a PNR. 4PQ does not store the fare for ticketing. The following entry can be made without having a PNR. 03/02 Page 9-5

Fare Savings Comparison Pricing Fare Savings Comparison Pricing displays a comparison price for a different class of service than what is stored in the ticket record. PTCs, segments, and the specific ticket record must be selected when multiple ticket records exist. Fare Savings Comparison Pricing entries begin with 4P.X. One or two alpha characters for the class of service can be used. A ticket record must be stored for Worldspan to calculate the difference in fare. The amount shown is the amount saved by booking the lower class of service or the additional amount necessary to book in the higher class of service. Activity: Fare Savings Comparison 1. INFO followed by ERR and the error number displays the error response explanation. This explanation describes why the PNR was unable to price, what can be done to override the error response, and what PNR changes can be made for the PNR to price. Activity: Error Responses 1. Access INFO PRICEERR and review. INFO PRICE ERR Each error response explanation is set up with a specific paragraph structure. The source of the error is listed followed by a definition, conditions to check in the PNR for the source of the pricing error, and action needed to resolve the pricing problem. 2.
