The Travel Data SIM Card ( SIM Card ) does not have an expiry date. It is valid with your HKBN account. Please visit traveldata.hkbn.net and login to SIM Card Activation to complete the activation procedure. It is recommended that you activate your SIM Card before traveling. Once activated, the Travel Data SIM Card can be used at any time overseas where coverage is available. To purchase extra-day pass for your SIM Card, simply visit traveldata.hkbn.net and login to Extra Day-pass Purchase and follow the instructions provided. Remarks - Consumption of data can be exercised in a flexible manner, i.e. consecutive-day usage of the SIM Card is not required. - When data usage in multiple countries within the designated regions and/or countries occurs during any 24-hour duration, only ONE (1) day-pass will be consumed. For example, if you travel to Singapore and Malaysia within a 24-hour period, only 1 day-pass shall be calculated. - Regardless of location, the validity of ONE (1) day pass is calculated on a rolling 24-hour basis, i.e. once the SIM Card is used, 1 day-pass will end after 24 hours regardless of the actual usage duration. - Any remaining unused entitled preloaded data will be carried forward and the SIM Card will be useable until the total entitlement of preloaded data and/or number of day-pass has been fully consumed, whichever occurs earlier. 2
Basic Information 1 Basic Information - The SIM Card has an average of 150MB daily data entitlement. After the 150MB preloaded data has been fully consumed within the 24 hours day-pass duration, you may continue usage during the same 24 hours day-pass duration as long as there is preloaded data available for the remaining entitlement days of your service plan and/or via purchase of extra day-pass(s). The SIM Card service will be suspended when all data entitlement for the service plan has been consumed. Any remaining unused data from the entitled 150MB in 24 hours day-pass duration will be carried forward for usage in the remaining number of purchased/entitled day-pass (if applicable). SIM Card service will be suspended when either the aggregate entitled and/or purchased preloaded data or number of day-pass has been fully consumed, whichever is earlier. Using a 2 day-pass with 300 MB preloaded SIM Card as an example, when customers: (1) Fully consume 300 MB on the 1 st day. The service will be suspended on the 2 nd day. (2) Consumes 100 MB on the 1 st day. The remaining data of 200 MB is now available for the 2 nd day. Regardless of the amount of data consumed on the 2 nd day, service will be suspended after the 2 day-pass has expired. Any remaining data can be carried forward and used continuously when you purchase extra day-pass(es) for the same SIM Card before such suspension occurs. - The SIM Card will only provide mobile data service, voice and SMS are not available. - The SIM Card can be used with most Android and ios smartphones and tablets. - The SIM Card does not support tethering or mobile hotspot, and is not compatible with wireless Wi-Fi routers. - The SIM Card is available in Mini/Micro/Nano SIM Card sizes. - Data uploading/downloading speed depends on specifications of different smartphones and tablets and overseas network. In general, the SIM Card provides 3G uploading/downloading speeds. 3
Usage Tips 2 Usage Tips 1. Consumption of data can be exercised in a flexible manner, i.e. consecutive-day usage of the SIM Card is not required. Remember to turn off Data Roaming when you switch to another SIM Card to avoid unnecessary roaming data usage. 3. On a number of smartphones, operation may be locked (with only a specific network allowed for the phone to function) to prevent the smartphone from using SIM Cards provided by other network operator. Please refer to your smartphone provider for more details. 4. Before using the SIM Card with any smartphone & tablet, disable automatic updates of email, app store, other applications ( Apps ), RSS and Podcasts to avoid unnecessary data usage. 5. Before using the SIM Card, re-set the data usage records on your smartphone(s) to 0KB for easier reference of data usage consumption. (There are discrepancies on setting/ways to switch off mobile network of different smartphones & tablets. In general, you can follow the above steps to reset them.
