2016 UCI BMX SUPERCROSS WORLD CUP RACE PARAMETERS Version on 26.01.2016 General race parameters UCI BMX Supercross events are open to all Junior and Elite riders who are licensed by a National Federation. They will participate in a combined Junior and Elite category. Five UCI BMX Supercross events shall be scheduled in each calendar year. A yearly overall UCI BMX Supercross ranking will be defined, consisting of the riders in the combined Junior and Elite category for each gender (note: there is no split result and no split prize money for Junior and Elite). Registration of participants Riders eligible to compete in a UCI BMX Supercross competition may register only under the auspices and through the agency of the National Federation for the country in which they hold nationality for the purposes of cycling (not necessarily that which issues their license). All competition entry dates must be adhered to. All races fees must be paid prior to competition; this is normally done during riders confirmation. National Federations are asked to use the UCI online registration system. The opening and closing dates are listed below: Start Date End Date 25.03.2016 26.03.2016 09.04.2016 10.04.2016 07.05.2016 08.05.2016 24.09.2016 25.09.2016 08.10.2016 09.10.2016 Event Title Country Venue ARG Santiago del Estero Registration Opens Registration Deadline 03.03.2016 17.03.2016 GBR Manchester 17.03.2016 31.03.2016 NED Papendal 14.04.2016 28.04.2016 USA Rock Hill 01.09.2016 15.09.2016 USA Sarasota 15.09.2016 29.09.2016 The registration deadlines can also be found on the following link on the UCI website: http://www.uci.ch/mm/document/news/newsgeneral/17/31/85/2016ucibmxsxworldcup- OnlineRegistrationDeadlines_Neutral.pdf Page 1 / 8

To register riders, please use your federation s personal login name and password (the same is used for all cycling disciplines or as communicated separately). The UCI registration system can be accessed here: http://regonline.uci.ch The entry fees, due to the organizer of a UCI BMX Supercross event, are as follows: EUR 150.00 per entered rider per category; normally paid during riders confirmation EUR 250.00 Late registration Possible until the riders confirmation is finished (as scheduled) Done through the National Federation Payment must be made immediately via any of the payment methods accepted by the organization Clarification: The organizer may accept payment in euros or any other currency that they wish. However, the currencies accepted (as well as the conversion from euros according to the UCI exchange rate for 2016, if it has been set) must be published in the competition guide for the event. If no UCI exchange rate has been established for that particular currency, then the exchange rate on the day of registration established via http://www.x-rates.com/ shall be used). Likewise, the organizer may decide the payment methods that they will accept. However, this information must also be published in the competition guide. All team managers must attend the riders confirmation presenting their riders licenses and picking up their race numbers. The riders confirmation deadlines are indicated in the competition guide published on the UCI website. Riders not being confirmed before the indicated deadline did not complete the registration procedure and will not be able to compete at the event. Race Numbers and Equipment Race numbers will be given randomly, except for riders holding a UCI permanent career number or those using World number 1-8 as listed on the UCI website. Art. 6.1.056: Elite riders with a permanent career number or those using World Number 1-8 must print their number on the jersey. Note: no other riders are allowed to print a number on their jersey. Clarification: The Elite Men and Elite Women Time Trial World Champions, if present, must wear their world champion jersey as follows: o o o During all practice and warm-up sessions before the time trial portion of the event During the Time Trial The Time Trial world champion jersey must not be worn during the race event Page 2 / 8

Clarification: The only part of a UCI BMX Supercross event where the Elite BMX race world champions must not wear their jersey is the time trial portion of the event, if they will take part in it. Otherwise, the world champion jersey must be worn at all other times during the event. Clarification: As UCI BMX Supercross events are considered to be Elite events, Junior national or world champions may not wear their champion jersey. Race Format (Art. 6.3.007) Qualification motos All registered riders have to do 3 qualification motos to qualify for the next stage of the event (except the top 8 women and top 16 men that are present of the current UCI BMX Supercross standing). Note: for the first UCI BMX Supercross of the season, the final standing of the 2015 UCI BMX Supercross is used. Seeding The groups for these qualification motos will be composed based upon a random selection of confirmed riders and will be randomly scrambled into moto groups for every run. For Qualification motos only, riders will be seeded into the number of heats that guarantees the maximum participants per heat. Gate selection order Run 1: randomly generated by the computer Run 2: fastest rider in previous run gets first gate pick Run 3: fastest rider in previous run gets first gate pick Qualification The riders with the best aggregate score of the first 3 qualification motos qualify for the next stage of the event (men top 48 women top 24) as per Art. 6.1.018. Tie breaker Ties are broken by the time in the 3 rd qualification moto. If a tie still remains, then the time of the 2 nd moto is considered. If a tie still remains, time of the 1 st qualification moto is considered. the Time Trials The top 8 women and top 16 men of the current UCI BMX Supercross standings that are present at the event are automatically qualified for the time trials (the final 2015 UCI BMX Supercross standings are used for the first event of the year). They must participate in the time trial which will be done over 1 run. Page 3 / 8

A rider who fails to start at his designated start time in the time trial run will be classified as a Disqualified (DSQ) and will be ineligible to transfer. The start order for the time trials is based on the current UCI BMX Supercross standing. In case of a tie to define the top 8 (women) / 16 (men) who will participate in the time trial, the best final result of the current season is considered. If a tie still remains, the 2 nd best result is considered. For the first event of the year, the best final result of the previous season is considered. Seeding The times from the time trial decides the seeding of these top riders for the 1/8 (men) and 1/4 (women) finals. They are seeded as the top 8 for women and top 16 for men followed by the remaining qualified riders, who advanced from the qualification motos. Gate selection order The times from the time trial decides the gate selection order of these top riders for the 1/8 (men) and 1/4 (women) finals. They choose a combination of fixed gates according to Annex 2 of the UCI BMX Regulations for the 3 runs of 1/8 (men) and 1/4 (women) finals. They choose their gate positions before the remaining qualified riders. 1/8, finals (MEN), 1/4 finals (WOMEN) The initial stage (1/8 finals for men and 1/4 finals for women) will be featured over 3 runs. The automatically qualified riders are always seeded before those who advanced from the qualification motos. Gate selection order Gate selection order is decided using the time from the time trials for the automatically qualified riders and according to the results of the qualification motos for the riders who advanced from the qualification motos.
