CONTEST RULES PURPOSE OF THE CONTEST The purpose of the second Matimex International Architecture Prize is creation of innovative, creative proposals inspired by reflection on the Architecture of Knowledge. The intention is to encourage the birth of new ideas for architectural spaces linked with knowledge in the broadest sense of the term. The creation, transmission and discussion of knowledge requires spaces suitable for a changing society and for the new forms of communication. To facilitate participation and offer inspiration for the projects, we propose three open project categories. GENESIS or CREATION. Any place for creation and reflection, including: Workspaces. Research facilities. Laboratories. Artists studios. LEARNING. Spaces for education at all levels: Nurseries. Kindergartens Primary and secondary schools. Laboratories and training centres. Basically, contestants are asked to design a new space or renovate an existing space with a project responding to the new requirements of creation, learning and /or transmission of knowledge. Projects submitted may be mere ideas, built projects, or projects prepared earlier which have been changed using Fiandre Iris Ceramica Group materials. TYPE OF CONTEST The Matimex International Architecture Prize is an international architecture contest for professionals and students who create projects using Fiandre Iris Ceramica Group materials. The project must be accompanied by a brief theoretical and graphic report describing the analytic / creative process that led to the final solution.
