Transportation expertise In the summer of 2001 we carried out the first single piece Truss Spar transport across the Atlantic Ocean from our yard in Finland to the Gulf of Mexico. For this major challenge the largest existing heavy lift carrier was deployed. During the Summer of 2008, the 8th single piece Spar hull was transported to the Gulf of Mexico. Advanced transport analysis and engineering make it possible to perform single piece transport of Spar hulls directly from manufacturing site to area of operation. Barents Sea Kara Sea Norwegian Sea Pori North Sea Paris Caspian Sea Baku Mediterranean Sea Spar hull, supports and ship hull analysed during sea transportation by a direct spectral based calculation procedure utilising 3D hydrodynamic and structural models. Transportation of sections through Russian waterways to the Caspian Sea The analysis procedure includes strength check for all structures under the defined extreme conditions, calculation of fatigue damage accumulation at critical locations during the voyage and, in case of overhanging parts, a study of slamming of those parts.
