2016 31 st Central New Zealand Sunbelts Championship SUPPLEMENTARY RULES Event Status This is a single event run over a period of two days at two venues with a separate permit for each venue to the Regulations, Codes, Rules, Procedures and Specifications of KartSport New Zealand, these Supplementary rules and any additional Supplementary Rules issued prior to or during the event. Classes to Compete Cadet Rok, Vortex Mini Rok, 100cc Junior Yamaha, 125cc Rotax Max Junior, 100cc Senior Yamaha Light, 100cc Senior Yamaha Heavy, 100cc Clubclass Yamaha, Clubsport 120 (Clubclass Yamaha and Clubsport 120 to be combined), 125cc Rotax Max Light, 125cc Rotax Max Heavy, KZ2, Open Minimum entry requirement for each class is 4 at close of entry date. For Club Class each category must have a minimum of 4 entries at close of Entry date. Categories are 100cc Clubclass Yamaha & Clubsport 120. Categories will run together but have separate grids and will be recognised separately in results. The host club reserves the right to combine other classes in accordance with KartSport New Zealand rules. Track Limit for the event is 24. 2. Race Format: As per Rules P2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.12, except 2.3 amended as follows; First 8 Heats pre-determined grid draw system. 9 th heat lowest points to the front Driver s worst performance is then dropped and the class winner decided over best 8 heats. The National points system is 1 point for 1 st, 2 points for 2 nd, 3 for 3 rd etc. Ties P2.7 except reference to 5 th heat will be 9 th heat and reference to fourth heat will be 8 th heat. Grid Draws for each day will be drawn at Blenheim. 3. Number of Laps: Race Distance: Blenheim Heats = 7 Laps Nelson Heats = 8 Laps The host club reserves the right to alter this number at close of entries according to entry numbers received. Results will be used to determine Mainland Series points - please refer to Series Permit/Supplementary Rules for details. Results will be used to determine ROK Cup points - please refer to Series Permit/Supplementary Rules for details. 4. Licence Requirement: Minimum Tier 2. All licence ratings to be signed a minimum of 10 days prior to the start of the event. 5. Transponders: Transponders must be fitted and functioning for ALL tuning runs and racing. 6. Official Notice Board: Location will be indicted at drivers briefing each day. Tyres: One set of slick tyres and one set of wet tyres per class entered for the two days of the event. 7. Race Numbers: Shall be 1 or 2 digit numbers. Numbers must be legible all event. Host Clubs reserve the right to allocate numbers in the event of a clash. 8. Vintage Parade/Demonstration: will be held at the end of tuning runs before racing starts, at the end of heat 2 and after heat 4 on Day 1. Day 2, at the end of tuning runs before racing starts, at the end of heat 2 and after heat 5 at the end of the day - all weather and time permitting. Entry Fee $60 with entry on official Entry Form with booking/payment of pit sites as required. The convenor/chief Steward will group karts as per Rule V at both venues for Parade/Demonstrations. Vintage Kart participants must make an effort to control noise and in particular we ask that you use some form of induction silencer as we get complaints in Nelson so are mindful of our neighbours and Marlborough is in town so we need to keep noise to a minimum. INFORMATION Drivers Briefing Will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday at approx.8.45am, on the out grid, or other such place as may be notified. All drivers (and their parents/legal guardians if driver is under 18 years old) must attend the briefing. Pits, Extended pits & Trailer sites Kart Stands: Competitors are required to have stands with feet attached so as not to damage the pit seal. There are allocated pit/trailer sites for each Venue. These areas must be reserved with the respective Host Club. The Cost for Reserved Sites in Nelson is $20.00. First in, first served - pay with entry. The Cost for Reserved Sites in Blenheim is $20.00. First in, first served pay with entry. On the sealed pit area, freestanding small shelters are permitted No pegs are to be driven into seal. At the Convenors discretion single axle small trailers may be permitted. Mainland Series This event will be Rounds 1 & 2 of the 2016 Mainland Series. Please refer to Series permit/supplementary rules/entry form for details of 2016 Mainland Series. ROK Cup This event is also Round 3-Option 1 of the Inaugural ROK Cup. Please refer to Series permit/supplementary rules/entry form for details of 2016 ROK Cup Series Practice Both Venues will be available Friday 3 rd June for testing from 11:00am thru to 5:00pm. These times are to be respected. Technical Karts, Engines and Tyres will be marked/sealed on Day 1 for inspection on Day 2. No marks or seals to be broken without prior approval of the Technical Officer. Confirmation of Entries Between 7:45 am and 8:30am on Each Day all entrants will go to Documentation. You must have Race Suit, Helmet, Gloves, Race Book, Licence and Current Club Membership Card. A Race Official will check your gear and Competition Licence etc. Then proceed to Entry Confirmation where you produce your stamped licence to confirm you have been through documentation. Parking Parking is under the strict control of the Convenor. There will be some strict controls in place, which MUST be observed. Trophies/Prizes Annual challenge trophies will be challenged for. Keepsake trophies from 1 st to 3 rd will be awarded in all classes. Changes KartSport Nelson and KartSport Marlborough reserve the right to change class combinations, race order, timetable, race distances and number of heats that may be determined by circumstances on the day. Unacceptable Behaviour Everybody expects a high standard of behaviour at all times. The Convenor in conjunction with KartSport New Zealand Officials has the right to remove any person from the complex deemed to have behaviour that could bring this event into disrepute. Page 4 of 5
