Engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil and transmission fluid are typical requirements within the rail sector that FUCHS can meet. FUCHS product technology exceeds traditional industry specifications and carries multiple approvals and recommendations from OEMs. FUCHS uses carefully selected base oil and develops its own unique additive packages to offer exceptional lubricant technology. This provides greater operational reliability, reduced fuel consumption and lower maintenance costs. GREASES FUCHS is a leading global supplier of greases. Our portfolio includes specialist greases for track maintenance applications, including wheel flange lubrication, points and slidechairs, as well as axle box bearing grease. This helps eliminate unforeseen breakdowns as well as maximising the operational life of the asset. PRODUCT SUPPORT FOR THE RAIL INDUSTRY LUBRICANTS FROM RENEWABLE RESOURCES FLEET MAINTENANCE TRACK MAINTENANCE The established TITAN Engine Oils and TITAN Gear & Transmission Oil range are approved by primary OEMs to the rail industry, ensuring optimum performance and outstanding protection even with increased speeds, temperature and loads. INFRASTRUCTURE FUCHS offers lubricants for all vehicles and assets used in rail infrastructure build, including specialist products for rail tamping machines and tunnel boring machines. Specialist products include rapidly biodegradable and fire resistant versions of hydraulic oils. We supply greases designed specifically for rail traffic use, including biodegradable alternatives approved to OECD specifications. RAIL BUILD FUCHS is an experienced supplier of production lubricants and initial fill lubricants for train manufacturers. Products include machining lubricants and specialist corrosion preventives for cavities. Since the 1970s, FUCHS has been pioneering research in developing lubricants from sustainable and renewable resources, with the aim of limiting environmental impact. FUCHS is now respected as a world leader in biodegradable lubricant technology and has developed the technically advanced PLANTO range of products. PLANTO oils are high performance lubricants based on renewable raw materials, such as rapeseed and sunflowers, combined with downstream esters and specially selected additives. All of the products are rapidly biodegradable. Using them minimises environmental damage and reduces clean-up and disposal costs in the event of leaks or equipment defects. Performance is not compromised either: the unique combination of raw materials ensures optimum performance, surpassing that of the traditional mineral oils mainly used by the rail industry today. Test results obtained during the construction of the Eden Project in Cornwall showed wear rates of hydraulic system components were 10 times lower when using PLANTOSYN 46 HVI than with conventional mineral hydraulic oil. Furthermore, many PLANTO products carry approval to the 'Euro-Marguerite', the official eco-label of the European Commission. Tested by independent institutes to guarantee that they meet strict ecological and practical criteria, the PLANTO products:. Are free from substances which represent a danger for the environment and human health (according to EU guideline 1999/45/EC). Do not contain organic halogen or nitrite compounds. Have very low aquatic toxicity. Are rapidly biodegradable (>60% by OECD 301). Are mostly CO 2 neutral when manufactured. Reduce CO 2 emissions in the application. Meet and surpass requirements according to ISO 15380 4 5
