Information sur le projet Titre: Code Projet: Human Factors Training for the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing industry LLP/LdV/TOI/2009/IRL-512 Année: 2009 Type de Projet: Statut: Accroche marketing: Résumé: Projets de transfert d'innovation Accordé STAMINA-BPM is a Human Factors training solution for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. STAMINA-BPM brings together expertise from academia, industry and consultancy in the development of a state of the art training programme that addresses performance, reliability and safety of the operation and people in the bio-pharma sector. The STAMINA-BPM Human Factors training programme is developed from the established STAMINA HF training for the aviation industry - this has been successfully delivered internationally for over 10 years. The STAMINA-BPM research project will transfer the STAMINA Human Factors Training approach from the Aviation to the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries. Originally developed in a Leonardo project, the STAMINA approach has been successfully built into a global human factors training business recognised internationally as a quality benchmark. The Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries have a similar need for human factors training, but with a less elaborated research and regulatory framework. Transferring and carefully customising the STAMINA approach to this sector will bring the industry up to best practice rapidly and lay the foundations for transferring of other elements of the aviation human factors framework for the sector. The project will design, develop, deliver and evaluate a core human factors course for the sector and a complementary train the trainer course. However, the foundation of these activities will be an intensive initial analysis phase which will profile the human factors challenges of the industry, the related training needs and the regulatory framework to provide a thorough basis for sensitive adaptation of the training model. The training developed will be disseminated through the well established networks of the partners, and exploited by incorporating it into the already commercially successful STAMINA training programme. The consortium is comprised of: a University - TCD - who coordinated the development of the original STAMINA programme; a training and consultancy company - Kratis - which collaborates with TCD in delivery of the STAMINA programme; the University of Pireaus - with extensive experience of e-learning and the related medical field; Wyeth, a global major player in the Pharmaceutical industry, and Aegis, a Cypriot Pharmaceutical SME. These industrial partners will provide the people, environment and context for transfer of innovation to take place. The primary outcome will be enhance training and training processes to support safety, reliability and performance in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector. Ultimately this should yield better safety performance indicators and and outcome measures; improved safety, health and well-being for employees in this sector; and a positive impact on organizational performance within biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to whom training is provided. The envisaged impact will be a stepwise improvement in safety, reliability and performance in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector.
