Dear Friends, From the Director Thank you for refusing to accept the status quo that it is OK for children to grow up without families, encouragement and opportunity to reach their full potential! It is not! Your participation this past year has enabled Orphans Overseas staff in Asia, Africa and North America to drive change providing Parents, Prevention and Preparation helping children in Vietnam and Kenya to overcome situations that keep them locked in poverty without hope for change. In Kenya, nearly 900 children participated in our Karibu Centre programs, resulting in happy, confident children! We successfully implemented the Kenyan ECD curriculum plus daily individualized computer learning for each child for 110, 3-5 year olds. For the second year in a row, 100% of our pre unit class passed their first grade entry exams, simply unattainable before our program here. Two nutritious meals were served to each preschooler five days per week resulting in healthy, energetic children. Every day we see primary school kids running down the street towards the gates of our Karibu Centre, for our Afterschool Boys Clubs and Girls Clubs which expanded to five days a week, serving 260 of our brightest local elementary school boys and girls. These eager learners are mentored in Science, Engineering Technology and Math (STEM) by our capable Karibu Centre staff. The students at Barracks Elementary School, one of the two local schools where Orphans Overseas expanded its Computer Learning Lab, the children have been earning all kinds of academic awards, and the principal credits Karibu Centre s influence for their successes! Our results in literacy testing verify an average improvement of nearly 100% in all students! Ten orphans in our Baby Nursery received adoptive families this year and our staff has shared hugs, prayers, tears and great joy watching these new families leave our gates entering a new life together. In Vietnam, our program, Orphan Impact, has expanded, serving 364 kids in 10 orphanages each week! This transformational program teaches next generational computer skills, while building confidence, creativity, and critical-thinking for children growing up in Vietnamese orphanages. Students in our program have transformed from despondent, sullen, isolated children to happy, inquisitive, and eager group participants. Participants in our orphan Computer Technology classes consistently outperform their peers in public school in Technology and Computer skills, causing local students to complain that orphans get preferred treatment! Tam Binh Orphanage received a government award for its kids not running away and the director credited the success to the popularity of our Computer Technology classesthe children do not want to miss them and so do not run away! Three of our students from Tam Binh Orphanage successfully entered Junior College, defying statistics that 0% of orphans qualify for university! We recently launched a sister preschool to our Karibu Centre, called KidSpire Preschool, in Lake Oswego, bringing our skills across the ocean as a income producing project. This innovative program develops creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration in our youngest of learners, through exploration and discovery. Most of all, we know that our efforts are working because we have invitations to scale our programs in both Kenya and Vietnam to help more children, we have statistics confirming our results, and we can simply see the joy on each of our children s faces and know they have transformed from surviving to thriving! 2014-2015 Highlights: Computer Literacy Program for young learners Karibu Centre - 110 children ~ Kenyatta Primary: 280 children ~ Barracks Primary: 225 children Abandoned Children Program Rescue Care: 9 children were rescued and temporarily housed before being transitioned back into the care of extended family Adoptions: 10 children adopted After-School Youth Education Program Boys & Girls Science & Technology Club - 240 participants Boys Choir - 20 participants We are seeing a great number of changes among the youth, as their skills are advancing, attitudes toward education have improved, their performance at school is also improving and the community has embraced the program as a benefit to the children Early Childhood Education Program 100% of our children were accepted into primary school 110 students were enrolled The lower number of students has allowed for a higher quality education and care Minimal school fees are now being charged to foster an attitude of partnership among community members Sustainable Agriculture Program Aloe Vera is growing and still awaiting our first harvest Jobs have been created for the ongoing cultivation of the aloe vera crop Harvested fruits and vegetables, milk, rabbit meat, as well as duck & goose eggs The nutrition and diet of the children has greatly improved, as they are enjoying these fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the week in addition to locally sourced milk, meats and eggs

2014-2015 Highlights: In Vietnam, we are currently running a computer and internet education program with 100 Google Chromebooks in 10 orphanages. We served 364 orphan children each week We have 8 teachers on staff and 24 volunteer teachers We secured our largest single grant to date in Vietnam $25,000 from Transparent Fish Fund We completed a transition from Windows-based Classmate PCs to Google Chromebooks in all orphanages We replaced old computers (some having been in use for 5 years) in all orphanages We added 2 new orphanages, bringing our total number of orphanage partners to 10 orphanages and 364 children each week. We hosted a volunteer team from Team4Tech with volunteer tech professionals from Visa, Facebook, and Box We built and executed a 24-hour teacher training course for young professionals wanting to volunteer and teach with us on weekends We centralized our "curriculum" and "weekly lesson" building to a 3-person curriculum team who pushes the lessons out to all teachers by Thursday noon, in all orphanages

Orphans Overseas Mission Changing the world by transforming the world s neediest children Orphans Overseas transforms orphans and impoverished children worldwide through Parents, Prevention and Preparation enabling them to overcome the obstacles that keep them from reaching their potential. According to the most recent UNICEF statistics, there are an estimated 163 million children worldwide who have lost one or both parents. Kenya estimates that 43% of the population lives below the international poverty line on less than $1.25 per day, with 2.5 million orphans. Vietnam estimates 17% of people live below the international poverty line, with estimates as high as 1.5 million orphans These are the children we serve. Parents... Orphans Overseas seeks adoptive homes with extended biological family, within their culture or with an international family for children who have lost their parents through death, abandonment or court termination. Prevention... As child trafficking has risen, Orphans Overseas has committed significant energy to work with single parents helping them to feed and care for their own children improving health, shelter and protection. Preparation... Orphans Overseas provides quality, supplemental individualized computer education programs for the youngest of learners to preparation for university for severely impoverished children and children who live in an orphanages.
