ACCOMODATION AT THE LODGE: Accommodation at Las Golondrinas is in a private house lying within the shoot. The house is an ancient Cortijo Español where you will find a place with all the warmth and taste of the past but with all the commodities of today. Settled in the heart of Extremadura, between Trujillo and Caceres, it is a unique country house with a large central courtyard, two gardens, one with almond trees, oaks, mimosa, wisteria, oleander, roses and geraniums, and the other with a centenary boj surrounding a rose garden with a pond, geraniums and begonias. Both gardens are overlooking a beautiful meadow, typical of Extremadura. The house has 10 rooms all with private bathroom, a dining room with fireplace, a chapel, and trophy gallery which distributes to the rooms. Besides the main house there are several nearby houses always keeping the same architecture and forming a single set. The meals are directed by a cook "Cordon Bleu" and both the excellent wine cellar and service personnel are supervised by the hosts at all times, adapting to the needs of each client. Upon request they can arrange a Flamenco evening, with guitarists and flamenco dancers who form the well-known Voces de las Marismas group. Also they can arrange shows of Rejoneo bullfighting on horseback and Spanish horsedancing. IMPORTANT NOTE When the shooting season is over, which means from March to September, the house of Las Golondrinas is available for other activities such as cultural programs, bird watching, and staying at the countryside among others. COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES: There is a good golf-course twenty minutes from the shoot. Less than half an hour distance there are historically, culturally and artistically outstanding roman and medieval places to visit, such as Cáceres (World Heritage), Trujillo, Guadalupe, Mérida, Plasencia and Coria, to which we can organize visits with a guide. Extremadura is the home land of the main conquerors of America, such as Pizarro, Hernan Cortes, Orellana, Nuñez de Balboa, Almagro, etc.

The above programme can be complemented with one or more days of big game hunting. BIG GAME As well as the partridge shoots, they organise big game shoots. Both in Monterias (driven red deer and wilboar with dogs - Monterias is one of the most traditional way of hunting in Spain) as well as in stalking with guarantee of the best trophies of the Iberian fauna (Red deer, Fallow Deer, Roe Deer, Ibex Capra Hispanica, Mouflon, Wildboar, Barbary Sheep, Pyrenean and Cantabrian Chamois). PARTRIDGE SHOOT IN SPAIN 15 th SEPTEMBER 2010 15 th MARCH 2011 Driven partridge shoots in one of the best well-known areas for driven partridge in Spain, called Los Cerros, which means the Hills, in a complete unspoiled area and only 45 minutes distance from Madrid city center. Covering an area of 3.500 hectares of spectacular wilderness and beautiful landscape full of huge valleys, where you will find the traditional drives mixed with the highest birds. Los Cerros is under the guidance of Fernando Diaz de Bustamante, with an experience of 35 years, together with his son Jacobo who joined him 15 years ago. They have created a shooting paradise for those who are looking for really challenging and sportive partridges. Los Cerros is specially beautiful and wild. It has mount and holm oaks, sprinkled with cereal crops, olive trees and vineyards. Plenty of ravines and hilly. Without fences or power lines. Beautiful and ideal for partridges shooting drives. For those who look for really challenging high birds there are over 15 drives. Other drives tend also to high partridges although more normal. Los Cerros together with all the possibilities offered by a city like Madrid, cultural, tourist and gastronomic makes this program a memorable and unforgettable trip. It is only 45 minutes away from the center of the city by highway with no traffic, which gives the possibility to the companion to mix country life with culture, day excursions to cities like Toledo, El Escorial, Aranjuez etc (World Heritage Cities at less than half an hour drive). The line of guns can be from 6 to 10 and the daily bags from 600 to 1.500 (or even more).
