Walk Verín to Xinzo de Limia (34.7 km) NOTE: There is an option for car pick up at 25km for those who want a shorter walk today. O Retrio do Conde [Casa Rural] A beautiful 17 th century building that was a former palace and has been completely restored. Rectoral de Candás [Casa Rural] ome.aspx The old rectory of San Martiño de Candás parish church, in Ourense village of Rainiz de Veiga, in A Limia region. Built more than 200 years ago; refurbished in 2003 as rural tourism accommodation. Rio Arnoia in front of our hotel in Allariz 5 14 October Friday Walk Xinzo de Limia to Allariz (20 km) NOTE: this hotel has a pool and full spa for relaxing after our day s walk. 3 6 15 October Saturday Free day in Allariz Explore town, do some shopping, or relax around pool and spa (massage, anyone?). Hotel AC Allariz Dinner on your own. The spa at our hotel The grounds of Hotel Auriense 7 16 October Sunday Walk Allariz to Ourense (23 km) Today we leave quietness of isolated mountain villages and head towards city of Ourense. The Romans gave name of Auriense ( place of gold) to peaceful little township that now is third largest city in Galicia. After Ourense, we will discover THE most beautiful of all last 100km sections to Santiago; with nice paths, forests, hills and outstanding views. Hotel Eurostars Auriense EN/hotel.html The Eurostars Auriense is a peaceful enclave not without its luxuries and temptations. or 8 17 October Monday Walk Ourense to Tamallancos (13 km) A short day starting with a big climb, on which we join Camino Real branch of Via de la Plata. 4 Mosterio de Oseira 9 18 October Tuesday Walk Tamallancos to Oseira (23 km) Today we walk along shaded paths in countryside, on our way to XIII century Mosterio de Oseira. We will pass by (and perhaps visit) Santa María Church before continuing on and eventually through small village of Cea, known for its famous bread Pan de Cea. The end of today s walk finds our accommodation at a grand where we can relax and reflect on our journey. Pilgrims are welcome to share services with monks. Mosterio de Oseira [Monastery de Santa María la Real de Oseira] A with 8 centuries of history; it is kept in perfect condition. It is situated in parish of Oseira, with great economic and social importance in region and more distant lands. River gorge October Wednesday Free day in Oseira Continue relaxing at, visit local village or take an optional river gorge tour and/or winery tour. Pilgrims are welcome to share services with monks. 5 Galician countryside October Thursday Walk Oseira to Bendoiro (28 km) A long but easy walk along a very quiet country road (crossing into province of Pontevedra along way) and passing through farmlands and a scattering of small villages with interesting architectures. Casa Goris [Casa Rural] <no website> A lovely rural house with charming hosts. Ponte Toboada bridge October Friday Walk Bendoiro to Loimil (23 km) Today is a pleasant stage, walking up and down hills through woodlands, farmlands and small villages. We ll cross Toboada s bridge over river Deza, one of most scenic areas of our walk. A Casa da Botica [Casa Rural] A typical farmhouse that became one of first pharmacies in area. Restored in 2004, it retains walled courtyard, granary and its gardens some plants are more than 100 years old! Puente Ulla bridges October Saturday Walk Loimil to Santiago de Compostela (28 km) Today is special because it is last day of our walk! A long but easy walk leaving Puente Ulla we first climb up towards Pico Sacro with its Ermita de San Sebastian and breathtaking views. The last couple of kilometers to Santiago are still quite rural and it is difficult to believe we are so close to city. Finally, we reach Santiago! 6 Santiago Cadral (before restoration currently in progress) October Sunday In Santiago Today we visit Pilgrim Office and receive our Compostela certificates well done! We ll attend Pilgrim s Mass and later we ll enjoy a tour of rooftop of Cadral. The remainder of day is free for you to explore and enjoy Santiago.
