1 Introduction BEAT MACHINE is an innovative Hip-Hop VSTi/AU plugin for PC or MAC. This software has been specifically designed for Hip Hop producers who require that gritty 90 s Boom Bap sound, notorious for its fat crunchy drums and dusty beats. BEAT MACHINE includes a huge library containing some of the finest drum sounds ever heard in Hip Hop production, these have been sourced directly from Hip Hop producers responsible for some of the world s most famous beats and instrumentals. 2 Installation PC / Windows XP / 7 / 8 Extract/unzip all the files from the downloaded archive to your desktop or a temporary folder. Open the unzipped folder. Run Beat Machine 1.0 [x86].exe (32bit) or Beat Machine 1.0 [x64].exe (64Bit) and follow the on screen instruction to install the software. You will be asked for an install password. This would have been sent to your email address along with your personalised serial number when the software was purchased. You will need 450Mb of hard drive space available. The default location for installation is c:\program Files\Vstplugins please use the BROWES button to select a different location if your VSTi/VST s instruments and effects are installed elsewhere. During the install a.dll file and a Beat Machine Instruments folder will be installed in your VST Plug-ins folder. To uninstall the software, just remove both these items. You will have to enter your serial number on first use of BEAT MACHINE.

You will see a file with a.component extension. This is the only file needed for Beat Machine to run. 2. Move the.component file to the Components folder in your audio plug-ins folder (the default is Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins). 3. When your DAW starts up, it will rescan your plug-ins folder and detect BEAT MACHINE. 4. You will have to enter your serial number on first use of BEAT MACHINE.
3 Overview BEAT MACHINE has two main features, it s extremely easy to use and it has a huge amount of incredible sounding Hip Hop drum kits. You can use the classic Hip Hop MIDI drum patterns included or you can program/play your own. Once you have the pattern ready all you have to do is scroll through the included kits until you find the one to suit your beat. PREVIOUS / NEXT PATCH: Use these buttons to scroll through the kits. PATCH NAME: Clicking the patch name will bring up the full list of kits. DRUM FADERS: Use these faders to change the volume of each drum sound. EXPANSION SLOT: This will be used for future expansion packs. REVERB / VOLUME: Use these knobs to adjust the desired amount. PITCH: Use this knob to change the drums pitch.
4 MIDI DRUMS The kits are arranged very simply for each patch. Every kit starts at C1 (KICK DRUM) on your keyboard and each subsequent drum sound is played on the adjacent white keys up to F Key (MISC). See Diagram below. PLEASE NOTE: Although our kits start at C1 your DAW (Acid, Ableton, FL Studio etc) may start its C1 on a different key such as C2 or C3 etc. If you hear silence when you press the C1 key on your keyboard once the plug-in is installed, try a different C key until you hear the KICK DRUM. That will be the start of the kits for your DAW.

IT DOESN T SHOW UP IN MY DAW INSTRUMENT LIST: Beat Machine needs to be installed in your usual VST plug-ins folder such as /program files/steinberg/vstplugins etc I DIDN T RECEIVE THE SERIAL NUMBER: Your serial would have been sent to you within 1hr of your order being placed. If you haven t received your serial within the hour please email support@dopevst.com and include your PayPal transaction number. I CAN ONLY HEAR THE KICK DRUM ON HALF THE PATCHES: 250 of the patches are mixed for stereo outputs [1], the remaining 250 are mixed for multiple outputs [4]. If you want to use the multiple outputs kits you will have to send the SNARE, HIHATS and PERCUSSION to separate channels on your DAW s mixer. Some DAW s offer this feature and some don t. I CAN T HEAR ANYTHING WHEN I PRESS C1 ON MY KEYBOARD: As mentioned previously not all DAW s are mapped to the same C1 key. C1 on FL Studio maybe C2 on Ableton Live, so try pressing each of your C keys on your keyboard or piano roll on your DAW until you find the KICK DRUM. This will be the start of the kits. SHALL I USE THE 32bit OR 64bit VERSION: If you are using a 64bit DAW please use the 64bit version of BEAT MACHINE. If you have a 64bit Operating system but are using a 32bit DAW please use the 32bit version.
