Leading the field of steel screw pile foundations ScrewFast Foundations Limited are the proven leaders in the design, supply and installation of helical piles and steel foundations. Since the company's formation in 2000, ScrewFast has pioneered the revolution in screw piling foundations and was the first provider of Large Diameter Helical Piles in UK infrastructure. The steel foundations specialists offer a full range of solutions and supply to all industry sectors. Steel-based foundations (helical piles and driven piling) have grown to be recognised and accepted as a preferred option for Highways and Rail Structures, Electrification and Energy Structures, Telecommunication Masts, Marine-based Construction, Eco-Friendly Building and many other industries. Our ISO9001:2008 UKAS accreditation guarantees the quality, reliability and consistency of our service, products and management. ScrewFast ensure the highest quality at all stages of the process from design, manufacture, training and installation, testing and monitoring, and 24 hour support. Compared to conventional techniques, these have not only reduced the time on site by nearly 50%, but have generated cost savings of nearly 30%. The ScrewFast system dramatically reduces the amount of time and number of operatives required for the site installation of the works making the process inherently safer and substantially cheaper. This equates to a reduction in the time exposed to the risks of working on live carriageways of 70%. Sarah Revell Carillion ScrewFast provides turn-key foundation solutions which include site investigation, design, supply, installation, monitoring and testing. A 24-hour support helpline for all our projects enables you to speak direct to a qualified engineer familiar with your project. ScrewFast offers a wide range of steel foundations suited to any ground type in any location. 3 4

ScrewFast in your industry All of the foundations are certified to be used across all industries and are used extensively within the following Sectors: Highways projects Railways projects Process Industries Infrastructure Providers Airports The Environment Agency Central and Local Government Renewable Energy projects Electrical Grid Projects ScrewFast Foundations have the capacity to undertake projects of all sizes. Each ScrewFast base was installed in less than five shifts. It would have taken three weeks had we relied on the old system Bernie van Hoek Birse Civils, Site Agent, M42 J9-11 scheme Foundations designed to your requirements ScrewFast has grown screw piling into a reputable and accepted foundation option for structures within many industries including highways and roads, renewable energy and electrification, rail and GSM-R, bridges, flood defence and retaining walls, telecommunications and buildings and general civils. These sectors continue to benefit from the numerous advantages of our steel-based foundations, including: Significant reduction in project construction time, leading to cost savings Minimal environmental legacy; eliminating 'dig and dump' Reduced carbon footprint Ease of installation; reduced number of plant and workers Reduced risk to workforce Reduced risk and inconvenience to public Remote locations reached Ease of demolition; foundations quickly and easily unscrewed A full range of steel foundations are now available to suit any ground condition, including rock, in any location. Central and Local Government Railways Projects Highways Projects Environmentally Sensitive Projects 5 6

ScrewFast Foundation solutions ScrewFast Foundations responsive Design Department and experienced Research and Development Team are continuously designing new and innovative steel-based foundation solutions to satisfy the requirements of individual clients. Each foundation that ScrewFast supplies is tailored to the specific structure, ground condition and location of the project. Since the company's inception a number of standard solutions have been developed to accommodate common ground conditions and structural loadings. Helical Screw Piles A steel pile with helical plates placed at strategic positions along the shaft. The plates give the foundation both tension and compression bearing capacity. Piles are normally connected in groups to a steel load transfer grillage. No concrete is needed. GRIP Piles A rock anchor/shear tube hybrid adapted by ScrewFast for support work in very hard soil conditions. A large shear tube which encases the rock anchor is used to transfer the load through soft soils onto bed rock or very hard strata. STAR Pile A steel winged pile, which is driven into the ground to provide an instant foundation for smaller structures. Angel Pile A single helical pile with a winged sleeve attachment. The winged section is driven over the shaft of a helical pile, to give the foundation extra lateral stability in the softer top soil. Tubular Driven Steel Piles A large hollow tube, driven or vibrated into the ground in short sections. A Down-the-Hole (DTH) hammer is sometimes used during installation. 7 8

Bespoke Services/Projects Conventionally cast concrete foundations ScrewFast can design all forms of steel foundations, as well as a range of concrete types, which are suited to all soil types, including very dense material and rock. The most appropriate foundation technology is specified according to the loads and geology encountered, that's why each ScrewFast foundation is bespoke designed for maximum foundation performance. Contract Management Grillages Bespoke design available for many applications, including standard sized, T shape, Y- shape, cruciform, 6, 8, 10 pile grillages. They rigidly and securely connect the structure to the piles. Ballast Retaining Structures From temporary emergency repairs to permanent large scale Ballast Retention projects, ScrewFast have a range of retaining products that have been proven on many rail sites. ScrewFast s innovative dynamic design approach providing proven engineering solutions combined with geotechnical expertise is the strength behind our success. Our Design Team has been carefully developed to blend a very high standard of geotechnical and structural design skills. Supply & Installation We supply a wide range of foundation solutions to meet the requirements of your individual project. Each helical screw pile or alternative foundation is designed based upon accurate soil testing, site investigation and the loading of each structure. Much of the work undertaken on site requires robust environmental management to protect and minimise any adverse impact from construction. Sites are properly defined with all protection measures in place and personnel fully briefed on the site requirements. Senior managers have clarity of vision and maturity of judgement, giving our clients and staff confidence in the way forward. Monitoring & Testing In line with ScrewFast s policy of conservative design, regular testing and monitoring of installed foundations is carried out. This is normally done at the start of a new project in order to verify that the pile design is correct for the ground conditions as expected. Training ScrewFast will license and train a limited number of selected contractors who wish to carry out their own installations. Details on request. 24hour Support ScrewFast provides a 24 hour Helpline for all projects, manned by qualified engineers. We believe that the cornerstones of partnering are: Trust Mutual Objectives Mutual Respect Problem Resolution Continual Improvement ScrewFast places emphasis, throughout the organisation and supply chain, on these principles and a sincere and enthusiastic customer care culture. We believe in team work with a can-do approach while keeping in sight the importance of Health, Safety and Quality. Everyone is actively encouraged and motivated to suggest more efficient methods of working. ScrewFast encourages good communications and generous support throughout the project team to address any issues and agree solutions swiftly and positively. This greatly assists in the delivery of projects safely, on time, on budget and to high standards of quality, while complying with the required environmental standards. I would like to take this opportunity to say how helpful your on-call staff are in responding to any problems that our staff face on-site, especially when most of our work is at unsociable hours. The services that ScrewFast supply are to a very high standard and we look forward to working with you in the near future. A Lockett Ubique Ground Engineering 9 10

Henham Footbridge (Latitude Music Festival) 49m span permanent bridge structure was installed in just 21 days in time to take 400,000+ visitors crossing to the Latitude Music Festival Chilleron Solar Farm, Cuenca, Spain 1.6 MW Solar Farm using Z-pile foundations installed over 5 weeks in dense sands Case Studies Shown here is a small selection of foundation projects undertaken for large and small applications throughout Europe. Further case studies can be viewed at www.screwfast.com Tesco Stores Ltd - Wootton Bridge, Isle of Wight 34 helical piles were used in the building foundation to accommodate existing underground services Reduction in construction time and of general public exposure to live works Nine months ahead of programme! To the limits of geotechnical & structural steel design / installation & construction, yet still providing a cost effective, safe, durable & serviceable design Leicester City Centre 9.5m Big Screen A four pile foundation solution was used around existing underground services Reduction in construction time and therefore avoiding disruption to the general public and the risk involved with exposure to live works M6, M52 Gantry Platforms 6 verge to verge (one 62m span) and 11 cantilever gantries using a combination of helical and GRIP piles significantly cut down programme time Southwark Park Caryatids statues, Rotherhithe Helical pile foundations were used to support the heavy statues and to minimise damage to existing tree roots which was one of the local council s key requirements Clongriffen Station, Dublin OHLE Compared to the traditional concrete foundations, weeks were saved from the project. By reducing the number and duration of track possessions the overall project costs were reduced I have been incredibly pleased with working with ScrewFast. Richard Lowe SDL Mansfield 11 12
