PEARL SETUP FOR ACCESS 2007 AND ACCESS 2010 BEFORE YOU BEGIN Pearl will not work in Office 2010 64 bit. When installing Office 2010, use the 32 bit installation option (recommended by Microsoft) even on 64 bit Windows. All changes must be made by an Administrative user on the workstation of each Pearl user. Be sure the latest service pack for Microsoft Office is installed on each workstation BEFORE opening Pearl. Microsoft updates: update.microsoft.com (as of 04/09/2014: Office 2007 SP 3; Office 2010: SP 2) Install the latest Pearl update. Pearl update: http://www.bromelkamp.com/home/support/softwareupdates/tabid/73/default.aspx In Office 2010 the round Office button was replaced with the File menu, but the instructions remain the same. In Office 2010, it may be necessary to change default expressions on form controls. If you encounter problems with F2 Find List searches, please call Bromelkamp at (toll free) 877 767 6703. Some users experience errors with Filters in Pearl reports in Microsoft Office 2010 with Service Pack 1 installed. Microsoft has released a hotfix which will resolve the issue. Please follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596496 SUMMARY AND CONTENTS For Pearl to work correctly with Access 2007 or Access 2010, macros must be enabled either globally or at least for the Pearl file via Trusted Locations. Also, you may need to follow additional steps for correct operation of the MSSOAP30.dll file to use Pearl Web Services (egrant Import and Guidestar Charity Check). If you have Pearl Access User Level Security, you must also reconnect each workstation to the correct Workgroup file to reactivate the separate Pearl logon. Summary of Steps: A. Windows 7 & Windows 8 users must note their original setting, then turn UAC off (change setting to "Never Notify") B. Change Macro Security Settings in Access (Note: Optional instructions are available for selectively enabling macros for Trusted Locations) C. Reconnect Pearl to security file if applicable D. Check code references in Pearl E. Review essential info on F11 and other Tips & Tricks for Office and Windows F. Test Pearl functionality with UAC off G. TROUBLESHOOT GUIDESTAR CHARITY CHECK OR EGRANT WEB SERVICE IMPORT ISSUES H. Once Pearl opens correctly with UAC off, Windows 7 & Windows 8 users must turn UAC back on (restore back to original setting) I. Test Pearl functionality with UAC back on 1 P age

WINDOWS 7 & WINDOWS 8 USERS: TURN UAC OFF (OTHER USERS: CONTINUE TO NEXT SECTION) The first step for you is to turn off UAC (User Account Control) by setting it to "Never Notify". It is EXTREMELY important that you remember to restore your original setting on as soon as you have completed the rest of the steps described in this document. 1. Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of the start bar on your computer: 2. In the Search box, type User Account; You should see a list display that looks something like the screen example below. 3. Pick the Change User Account Control Settings option 4. Check the location of the slider bar and make note of your original setting 5. Slide the Notify bar from the mid position down to the Never Notify position. Click the OK button. 6. Reboot your computer. Then continue on with the rest of this document. 2 P age

ALL USERS: ENABLE ALL MACROS IMPORTANT: Later in this document you will be instructed to restore UAC to your original setting. It is imperative that you do this once all necessary changes have been made. Pearl must run with macros enabled to work properly. Enabling all macros is the simplest method. (Please note: If you would prefer to enable macros only for the Pearl database, please see the Optional Instructions for Trusted Locations on the last page of this document.) 1. Open Microsoft Access without opening Pearl. 2. Open Access Options a. For Access 2007 Click on the Office Button in the upper left corner, then click on the Access Options button. b. For Access 2010 Click on the File Tab on the left side of the screen, then select Options. 3 P age

3. Select Trust Center and click on the Trust Center Settings button 4. In Macro Settings, select 'Enable all macros' 5. Click OK twice to close the Trust Center and Access Options menus and save the changes 4 P age

ACCESS SECURITY USERS: RECONNECT USERS TO THE WORKGROUP FILE (OTHER USERS: CONTINUE TO NEXT SECTION) You know you have Access Security if you get a separate Logon window for Pearl. Pearl users will become disconnected from the Pearl.mdw security file any time they open an Access database and the file is not available. Common situations include: Working on an off line copy of Pearl at home over the weekend. Changing/installing Windows or Office on the computer. Steps to reconnect to workgroup for each user: 1. Press F11 to reveal the Navigation Pane. 2. Scroll down to the Macros 3. Find the macro Pearl WorkgroupAdministrator. Double click on it. 4. The Workgroup Administrator dialog box will open, click Join 5. Browse and then navigate to \\Pearl\System\Pearl.mdw.Select Pearl.mdw and click Open. 6. Click OK. You should get a message that you have successfully joined the workgroup. 7. Reopen Pearl and log in as SecurityManager so that Pearl can copy necessary files to the workstation. 5 P age

OFFICE 2010 USERS: CORRECT THE 'MICROSOFT OFFICE SOAP TYPE LIBRARY 3.0' REFERENCE (OTHER USERS: CONTINUE TO NEXT SECTION) Due to a bug in Office 2010, users must install the Access 2007 Runtime to correctly register a necessary reference in Access 2010. Incorrect registration leads to errors opening Pearl and using the Guidestar Charity Check and egrant Import web services. The steps listed need to be taken on each individual workstation. Rename incorrect library file installed by Office 2010 1. UAC should still be off 2. Do a search on the C:\ drive for "MSSOAP30.dll" 3. Find the MSSOAP30.dll file in the OFFICE14 folder. The exact path will vary based on operating system. (In Windows Vista it looks like this: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\office14\mssoap30.dll) 4. Rename this file to MSSOAP30_14.dll Install Access 2007 Runtime 5. Download the most current Access 2007 Runtime from Microsoft and save to the Pearl\System folder 6. Install AccessRuntime.exe from the file you downloaded Correct the MSSOAP30.dll reference in Pearl 7. Open Access 2010 from the Start or Programs menu (Do not click on the Pearl shortcut.) 8. You will see a Microsoft Office xxxxx 2010 message. Windows will configure Microsoft Office xxxx 2010: 9. Open Pearl in Access 2010 10. The database should indicate it has found the MSSOAP30.dll reference 11. After this, Pearl Navigator should open and Pearl should function normally 12. If applicable, test GuideStar Charity Check or egrant Import web service(s) 13. Close Pearl 6 P age

ALL USERS: TEST PEARL FUNCTIONALITY (UAC IS STILL OFF AT THIS POINT) 1. Open Pearl from the shortcut 2. If applicable, the user should login with their own Pearl username and password (type over SecurityManager) 3. Test your usual tasks, which may include data entry, reports, accounting, etc. 4. If you have our Guidestar Charity Check service or use Pearl to import from egrant.net, be sure to test feature at this time. 5. Please contact Bromelkamp Support if you need assistance at (877) 767 6703 or support@bromelkamp.com. 6. Once Pearl works correctly, please continue. WINDOWS 7 & WINDOWS 8 USERS: TURN UAC ON The last step for you is to turn UAC (User Account Control) back on (restore to your original setting). It is EXTREMELY important that you remember to restore this setting on as soon as you have completed the rest of the steps described in this document. 1. Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of the start bar on your computer: 2. In the Search box, type User Account 3. Pick the Change User Account Control Settings option 4. Slide the Notify button from the Never Notify position back up to your original position (often the default midposition Notify me Only when Programs try to Make changes to my computer). Click the OK button. 5. Reboot your computer. WINDOWS 7 & WINDOWS 8 USERS: TEST PEARL FUNCTIONALITY WITH UAC ON 1. Open Pearl 2. If applicable, the user should login with their own Pearl username and password 3. Test your usual tasks, which may include data entry, reports, accounting, etc. 4. If you have any difficulties with Pearl, please reference the additional information on the remaining pages of this document. 5. Please contact Bromelkamp Support if you need assistance at (877) 767 6703 or support@bromelkamp.com. 7 P age
