Scenario Your school is delivering an exploring science event. This will include the application of science in hair and beauty. Your tutor has asked you to produce information resources and to carry out other activities for pupils and visitors attending the event. Learning outcome 1 Understand the chemistry of hair and beauty products Task 1 Produce information material You have been asked to produce information material about the principles of chemistry in relation to hair and beauty products. You may present your findings in the format of your choosing. This may include a leaflet, presentation or poster. pass you List the ingredients in four hair and beauty products (Criterion 1b). You must include a minimum of two beauty products and two hair products: Beauty-based products skincare, make-up and depilatory products Hair-based products shampoos, conditioners, colorants, lotions, and styling products List the properties and functions for a total of three specific ingredients found in hair and beauty products (Criterion 1a). Of these three specific ingredients, a minimum of one ingredient must be found in a hair product and one in a beauty product. You must list your specific ingredients, identify the ingredient type (i.e. paraben, antioxidant) and detail its properties and functions.
