RECOMMENDATIONS Mamou-Mani s work on Karen Millen has influenced the course of our journey Mike Shearwood, CEO of Aurora Fashion Arthur Mamou-Mani is an architect from the 22nd Century Stephen Melville, Director, Ramboll Engineering UK The collaboration has been really successful, since our project was installed there has been a significant increase in sales. Gemma Metheringham, Managing Director, Karen Millen I was immediately impressed by the pragmatic effectiveness of this young architect. He is perseverant, very committed and has placed his advanced knowledge of design technology at the service of his great sensitivity Michel Grinberg, Client for the House in Jaffa I have been lucky enough to study under Arthur at the University of Westminster. Arthur has been consistently helpful and reliable, with an obvious dedication to the subject. His knowledge of digital design tools and fabrication has proved extremely useful. Christopher Ingram, student at the University of Westminster I had the pleasure of working with Arthur on Karen Millen s entry for the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2013 and on the installations for the Karen Millen AW13 Press Show. Highly creative and a true innovator right at the forefront of his field, Arthur had no problem crossing over temporarily into the world of retail visual merchandising. His window installation in our Regent St store received global praise in both the retail and design press and placed Karen Millen firmly on the world stage as a leader in the field of experimental window design. Highly recommended, he is an architect to watch. Work with him now whist you still can! Andrew Hardy, Visual Merchandising Consultant at KAREN MILLEN Arthur Mamou-Mani has several times provided great support as a tutor for my students at the KTH School of Architecture. As part of the overall curriculum, he and his colleague has designed courses that has worked extremely well with the agenda within our teaching studio, primarily focused on issues of parametric modelling in relation to innovative design. He has always been very keen to understand how to best contribute to our overall agenda, and has been extremely generous with his knowledge and time. In this way he has combined his expertise within architectural design with technical skills, as well as a great pedagogic ability. He has been very appreciated by myself, my teaching colleagues and our students, and I hope to be able to collaborate again in the near future. Jonas Runberger, Director of Research, White arkitekter AB

Project Name: The Magic Garden - Site: Karen Millen Flagship Store, Regent Street London - Project Description: Window Display - Client: Karen Millen Fashions ltd. - Status: Completed - Budget: 8,000 - Date: April 2013- Architect: Arthur Mamou-Mani - Design Team: Jack Munro, Savvas Havatzias, Megan Sadler The Magic Garden has been designed to animate and seamlessly link all the windows of the store with one beautiful fluid form. By using both digital and physical techniques, the architect has shaped light-diffusing polyamide mesh fabric to maximise its structural qualities and interact with the mannequins. The result reflects the precision of both tailoring and architecture as well as the colour and lightness of the Karen Millen SS13 collection.

Project Name: House in Jaffa - Site: Jaffa - Project Description: Flat Refurbishment - Client: Michel Grinberg - Status: Completed - Budget: 250,000 - Date: Sept 2009 to Sept 2012 - Architects: Mamou-Mani Architects and Storey Architects This refurbishment project takes place in the village of Jaffa which is listed as UNESCO world heritage site. When lifting the whole roof up by one storey we had to think of the right logic for the circulation. This staircase goes through one of the rooms and therefore the screen, inspired by traditional Mashrabyias, was calibrated to block the views while still allowing light to go through. 16/12/11 - Michel Grinberg - House In Jaffa Mashrabyia Staircase Screen - Set-Up Diagram Shortest Distance from Center to Curve Room Visibility Curve 422.00 Vertical Lines 23.84 20.50 Horizontal Lines 253.00 Pattern Boundary Screen Edge 120.00 16/12/11 - Michel Grinberg - House In Jaffa Mashrabyia Staircase Screen - Set-Up Diagram - Component 17.00 23.84 1) The rectangular grid is achieved by intersecting vertical and horizontal lines at the corners of the stair. 2) The centroid of each rectangular cells projects its closest point onto the visibility curve. t Horzontal Edge points Vertical Edge points 1 Vertical Edge points 2 Thickness Mid Points 1 Mid Points 2 Width of middle geometry 0.667 0.679 0.439 0.5 cm 0.214 0.387 0.375 0.781 0.774 0.379 0.8 cm 0.143 0.412 0.345 0.600 0.658 0.686 0.25 cm 0.342 0.379 0.340 This page explains the parametric set-up of the Model: The pattern s components are defined by geometrical rules which can adapt to different edge condition. Project Name: Overcast - Site: V&A Museum London - Project Description: Installation - Client: Victoria and Albert Museum - Status: Shortlisted Competition - Budget: 30,000 - Date: May 2012- Artist: Guan Lee - Architect: Arthur Mamou-Mani - Design Team: Jack Munro, Dan Dodds, Maria Valente, Megan Sadler, Lemma Redda - Structural Engineers: Tim Lucas of Price and Myers Overcast is an installation for the Gallery 33A at the Victoria & Albert Museum. It was commissioned by the V&A as part of a shortlisted competition on the theme of plaster. The intention was to recreate the light scattering effect of clouds using 3D printed plaster. The result is a series of very light 3d printed cloudlets tightly assembled around a cantilevering steel structure. (above: Prototype of cloudlets and day time render)

Project Name: Heart of Africa - Site: Chester - Project Description: Biodome - Client: Chester Zoo - Status: Planning Approved - Budget: 60M - Date: Feb 2009 - Architects: Proctor and Matthews Architect - Role: Architectural Assistant Heart of Africa, or HOA, is part of the Natural Vision project: a masterplan to renovate and extend Chester Zoo and make it one of the largest and most innovative zoos in the World. Proctor and Matthews Architects was hired as an Architectural sub-consultant for AECOM after winning an invited competition. With a total budget of 60million, Heart of Africa covers a total area of 8.72 Ha amongst which 16,650 Sq.m. will be covered by a 200m long, 60m wide steel and ETFE free-form Gridshell. This roof will create a green house effect and the respiration of tropical plants will create a naturally high humidity level. I have worked as Architectural Assistant on this project and was in charge of all the parametric modelling.

Project Name: Autumn Winter 2013 Press Show- Project Description: Installation - Client: Karen Millen - Status: Completed - Budget: 8,000 - Date: March 2013- Architect: Arthur Mamou-Mani - Design Team: Jack Munro, Dan Dodds, Savvas Havatzias Karen Millen s Press Show is where they reveal their new collection to the press. We worked closely with the managing director and visual merchendiser to design a piece that would express the idea of Atelier. The 1000 Card Patterns used are all recycled from a factory in Cyprus that switched to digital patterns.

Project Name: University Centre Hastings - Project Description: University - Client: private Status: Completed - Budget: 30M - Date: September 2009 - Architect: Proctor and Matthews Architects - Role: Architectural Assistant in charge of the parametric modelling. These panels were developed for the University of Hastings, U.K. They are a representation of the Bayeux Tapestry and are use as ventilation panels for the building. They were built by RMIG, several pictures below show the tools used for punching the holes at the factory. I developed a tool that could create panels with any image and 40% opening ratio.

Project Name: Expanding Pavilion - Project Description: Temporary Pavilion - Client: NY City - Status: Competition - Budget: 20,000 - Date: August 2009- Architects: Arthur Mamou-Mani, Benjamin S.Koren, Rajat Sodhi, Takanao Todo - Consultant: Ackerman Gmbh The expanding Pavilion celebrates the act of building during the festival of Union Square. Passers-by of all ages will be encouraged to take part in the straight-forward assembly process of this joint-free, recyclable and easily expandable structure. Using a toolbox of simple CNC milled cardboard strips, which are folded into a variety of both structural and ornamental brick components, people s participation will define the ultimate appearance of the pavilion on Union Square.

Project Name: Green Re-Articulates Red - Project Description: Extension - Client: private - Status: feasibility - Budget: tbc - Date: September 2007 - Architects: Arthur Mamou-Mani - Consultant: Buro Happold Green Re-Articulates Red is the project I developed in 2008 for my Diploma at the Architectural Association. The PCF Headquarters was designed while Oscar Niemeyer was in political exile in France. His original intention was to create a democratic Ground for the people but today this ground has been surrounded by security fences, which makes the building look and perform like a monolith bunker, isolated from its neighbours in the poor, multicultural 19th arrondissement. Niemeyer wanted to make the city breathe, yet in addition to having circulation problems, the building is over-exposed to direct sunlight. The proposal attempts to restore the original design s democratic ambition by creating an Architecture of Accessibility for both pedestrian and climatic flows.
