1. PRESENTATION AND GENERAL POINTS 1.1 General Points CYMAQ marking machine has been designed taking current EEC safety regulations into account. Although the installation of the machine is straightforward, we recommend that you should not try to install, adjust, or operate it without first reading this manual. Follow the steps below to ensure the machine functions correctly and optimally: Observe and follow the procedures indicated on the machine. Always use original CYMAQ recommended spare parts. Any use other than that stated in his manual will automatically result in the customer waiving all their rights to compensation from CYMAQ, and will not be considered under the terms and conditions of the warranty. Furthermore, the incorrect use of the machine may endanger the operator and other people. CYMAQ marking machine conforms to European community norms: Machines Directive, Low voltage, Electromagnetic compatibility. CYMAQ marking machine is an electrically or pneumatically driven dot peen marking machine which marks microdots at an adjustable impact force. Characters and logos can be marked with different sizes and depth. Marking can be done on all sorts of materials (metal, plastic, etc.) and flat or curved pieces. A CYMAQ marking machine has following units: 1) Marking head: this is the mechanic part. The stylus can be activated electrically or pneumatically and the movement is done by two belt-driven axes. 2) Control Unit: the electronic control box to edit and mark the data. 3) START/STOP pushbutton: to start, pause or end the marking process.
1.2 Identification plate CYMAQ marking machine has the following identification plate, which specifies the serial number, name of the manufacturer, EC mark, marking head and electronic control unit model and the year of manufacture. 3. INSTALLING THE MACHINE 3.1 Unpacking the machine The machine is packed inside a box. Dimensions and weight of the machine plus packaging depends on the type of marking machine. When unpacking the machine, inspect it carefully for any damage caused during transit. If you find damage, notify the carrier immediately and do not touch the machine until the carrier s agent has carried out the corresponding inspection. When unpacking the box make sure the following accessories are inside along with the machine (Marking head + Control unit): 1. Power supply cable + ferrite 2. Set of fuses 3. Start/Stop pushbutton 4. CD Manual 5. CE community norms conformity s sheet 6. Air filter/regulator + Lubricator (Only for pneumatic marking head) 3.2 Installation The machine is assembled, calibrated and checked in the factory of PYFE S.A. To ensure the machine operates correctly position the marking machine on a flat, stable surface able to resist the weight of the machine. Make sure there is enough space around the machine for the operator to work in comfortably. Before switching the machine on for the first time you have to do following checks: Connect the cable of the marking head to the MARK connector on the unit control box. Connect the START/STOP buttons to the MAN connector on the unit control box. Connect the machine to the main supply by a plug with an earth wire and a differential switch. The supply voltage has to be according to the data on the identification plate on the rear side of the control unit. It is essential that the electrical system at the premises is connected to earth and is also fitted with a differential safety device. Make sure the machine is connected to earth. Switch the machine on with the switch on the rear side of the controller. After switching the machine on an internal test is conducted to check the marking head. A few seconds later control unit displays the main menu. Adjust the screen contrast by turning the CTR dial at the rear side of the control unit. Marking: the stylus does not represent any direct risk to hands or arms. However, the marking area should always be cleared before pressing the mark button.
3.3 Air filter/regulator + Lubricator (for pneumatic marking head) The filter/regulator unit controls air pressure to the marking head. Recommended oil viscosity: Oil clase1 (ISO VG32) Oil Quantity: minimum 1 cm 3
4. MARKING EXAMPLE This is an example to run a marking test by editing and marking a file. AS200 1. Swicht machine on 2. Display shows main menu 3. Use the direction keys (up, down, left, right) to go to Edit menu. 4. Press Enter and a window will appear to enter a file name. 5. After enter a file name press Enter key. Edit menu will be show and you can now introduce some text to be marked. I.e., 1234. 6. Press START button to mark a piece. 7. The file can be saved into memory and can be marked from MARK menu (see AS200 s Instructions manual)
5. TROUBLESHOOTING The machine does not switch on: Check that the machine is connected to the main power supply and that the fuses are ok (T2A fuses). After power the machine message Failure in motors X or Y or Connect START/STOP button appears: Turn off power, check all connections on rear of the controller. The machine switches on but the head does not move: Check that the fuses are ok. Display screen is dark: Adjust display at rear of controller The external keyboard does not work or the button functions have changed: Check that the keyboard is properly connected at the rear of the machine. The marking is misaligned or deformed: Check the belts and tighten them if necessary.
