Introduction This application has been designed for more advanced website designers who want to use highly customizable templates which can be edited by applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash MX and Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. It is recommended that beginners, or intermediate-level website designers who are not yet familiar with the required software, use EasySiteWizard Pro instead. EasySiteWizard Pro provides a more guided process for template-based website creation, which does not require the use of any additional software. Launch The application is launched from Manage Websites Tab, Design section.
When you first launch the application, this page is launched and you will be provided with two viewing options from the Main Menu: Templates are select EasySiteWizard templates, but are provided in a format which allows a higher level of customization. Again, these templates generally require the website designed to have access to Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash MX and Dreamweaver MX. There are no restrictions on the number of basic templates you can download. Royalty-free Images are pictures which are free for use online; these pictures are the same ones available through EasySiteWizard, but can be downloaded directly to your website through the interface provided by the Advanced Template Manager.
Templates The Templates interface allows you to preview and download highly customizable templates which generally require the website designer to own or have access to Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash MX and Dreamweaver MX. The number of template downloads per customer are limited by package type. The number of installations remaining is displayed above the template thumbnail images, by the information balloon. If the customer has downloaded a template in error, that they do not wish to use, the user will need to create a ticket with technical support. Advanced templates can be viewed by category; to do this, select the desired category from the dropdown menu located below the thumbnail image window. 1. Select an appropriate category from the list on the bottom left, below the templates. Templates are organized into generic categories such as Business, Communications, Law, Science etc. 2. Select a template by clicking on a thumbnail from the group. A medium sized (320x240) preview will appear to the right side of the interface as seen in the screenshot above.
Users can preview as many templates as they wish. 3. Click the thumbnail to access the Template Preview in a new window. The Template Preview provides the user with a functional mouse-over model of animated menus, as well as a (429x336 pixel) page preview. Towards the bottom left the Template Details section will include information used by website editors. File extensions, suggested software requirements are listed. It is important to note that these are not completed themes. Users will be required to tailor these file sets and add content to meet their needs. For example components created in Flash (.SWF) will need to be edited using an appropriate editor such as Flash MX. 4. Close the Designer Template Preview using the Red X to the top right of the screen. Click Next to proceed to the download interface.
5. From the highlighted drop down box shown above, select the directory you would like the installer to place the template and all dependent files. The installer will provide you a list of folders and subfolders that reside in both the public directories as well as Private. If the files are installed to a subdirectory within Private and are not moved after editing, these files will not be viewable on the Internet. If you do not see an appropriate directory, you will first need to create a directory using FTP or if available, the File Manager. Note: To ensure a complete and functional file set is installed, the wizard has been designed to overwrite files within the destination directory * Please ensure beforehand that any existing files in the chosen directory have been properly backed up. 6. Once you have installed your files, you can use an FTP program (such as Filezilla ) to download the template or images to your computer for customization.
Royalty-Free Images The Images interface allows you to download pictures which are free for use online. These pictures are the same ones available through EasySiteWizard, but can be downloaded directly to your website through the interface provided by the Advanced Template Manager. While there is no limit on the total number of images you can download, there is a limit of ten images per download transaction. 1. Begin by either selecting a category or searching for a keyword in the search field to the top left. To view by category, select the desired category from the drop-down menu located directly beneath the thumbnail image window. To search images by keyword, enter the keyword you wish to use, and press the "enter" key on your keyboard. The screen will refresh to display images which match your keyword. For example, using "chair" as your keyword will allow you to view images of chairs. If a particular keyword does not give you the results you expected, try using an alternate word to describe the category of images you wish to view.
2. The keyword or category you select will likely return more images than can be displayed at once; you can look at these additional images by using the blue "Next" and "Back" links located at the top-right corner of the Images interface. 3. You can preview an image by clicking on the magnifying lens icon beneath the thumbnail you want to preview. A full size version of the image will appear in a small box. If the user mentions they do not see this image, check to see that it has not been sent to the background or minimized. All subsequent image previews will load in this window if not closed. To close the preview window, click the red X to the top right of the box. 4. To select an image to download, click once on the thumbnail; the thumbnail will be displayed with a checkmark superimposed on top.
To deselect an image, click on it again; the checkmark is removed. You can select up to ten images. The images you select selected do not all have to be on the same page. 1. From the drop down box shown above, select the directory you would like the installer to place the image files The installer will provide you a list of folders and subfolders that reside in both the public directories as well as Private. If the files are installed to a subdirectory within Private and are not moved, these files will not be viewable on the Internet. If you are defining a path to these image files within webpage coding, the file must be moved to the public directory or a subdirectory within public. If you do not see an appropriate directory, you will first need to create a directory using FTP or if available, the File Manager. Note: To ensure a complete and functional fileset is installed, the wizard has been designed to overwrite files within the destination directory * Please ensure beforehand that any existing files in the chosen directory have been properly backed up.
