NZQF NQ Ref 0499 Version 4 Page 2 of 6 National Certificate in Printing (Dry Offset) () Credits 57 Purpose This national certificate is designed for trainees who are employed in the dry offset sector of the printing industry, and who have already completed the National Certificate in Printing (Dry Offset) (Level 3) [Ref: 0498]. All unit standards in this qualification are compulsory. Trainees may also have completed the National Certificate in Printing (Production Support) (Level 2) [Ref: 0593] with the Dry Offset strand. Holders of the certificate are able to print multicolour close register work on a dry offset press, and solve problems encountered during the print run. Replacement Information This qualification has been reviewed and replaced by the New Zealand Certificate in Print () [Ref: 1823]. Special Notes Prerequisite: National Certificate in Printing (Dry Offset) (Level 3) [Ref: 0498], or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. Changes to structure and content Title has changed from National Certificate in Printing Formed Shapes (Letterpress/Dry Offset) () to National Certificate in Printing (Dry Offset) (). Purpose statement has been updated. Titles of unit standards have been updated to reflect the outcome of their review. Unit standard 12380 has been removed. Credit total has decreased from 82 to 57. This qualification contains a standard that replaced an earlier standard. For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard see table below. Credit for Exempt from 339 20057 All trainees enrolled in programmes leading to this National qualification will be supported to complete it. will advise all employers currently involved in training programmes of the changes. Previous versions of the qualification Version 2 of this qualification was issued following a review of the Printing Production unit standards. Unit standard 20057 replaced unit standard 339, and the credit total was adjusted accordingly. Certification This certificate will display the logos of NZQA, and the organisation that has been granted consent to assess against standards that meet the requirements of the qualification (accredited). Classification This qualification is classified according to the classification system listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards (DAS) and the New Zealand Standard Classification of Education (NZSCED) system as specified below.
