The last date to meet the requirements is 31 December Purpose This National Certificate is one of three qualifications designed to recognise the combined management, financial, economic and engineering skills required by asset managers (civil engineering) to provide the required level of service in the most cost effective manner. Functionally, there are three levels within the asset management process and some components of the process also exist within related trade operations. The three levels are operations, tactical, and strategic. The qualifications cater for operations, tactical and strategic levels of the asset management process and while each can stand on its own, people may progress through all three levels. People seeking these qualifications will be required to demonstrate competent performance in the workplace. The National Certificate in Civil Engineering Asset Management (Operations) (Level 4) recognises the knowledge and skills required by role holders to fulfil the key functions of data capture, interpretation of contract specifications in accordance with professional practice, and implementation of operations on site, in accordance with contract specifications and in a professional manner. This qualification can lead to the National Diploma in Civil Engineering Asset Management (Tactical) (Level 6) [Ref: 0761] and the National Diploma in Civil Engineering Asset Management (Strategic) (Level 7) [Ref: 0762]. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. The table of mutually exclusive standards is provided on the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) website: Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions and retain their identification number (ID). Any version of a standard with the same ID may be used to meet qualification requirements that list the ID and/or that specify the past or current classification of the standard.
