How to create a web tab for any DreamFactory Application Upon installing any DreamFactory Software application from the AppExchange, you are in fact installing multiple custom objects which give you the ability to test drive 5 DreamFactory applications. Once installed, the application is usually assigned to a specific platform and tied to one web tab. When using any of the DreamFactory applications, you are not tied to strictly the installation location or to one tab. DreamFactory offers Salesforce.com customers the flexibility to move installed applications anywhere in their Salesforce Org. By using a unique URL, users can easily create new web tabs and move those tabs anywhere in Salesforce. In addition, Salesforce does not allow you to install duplicate custom objects, thus if you already have one DreamFactory application installed in your org, you cannot do a Get It Now to install another one. This document provides detailed instructions regarding how to create tabs for each individual product. To create a new Web tab for any of the DreamFactory applications, simply follow the directions below. Note: You must be a Salesforce System Administrator to be able to create a Web tab. 1. Go into Salesforce Setup 2. Navigate to the left side of the screen and look for App Setup and click on Create
3. Next, click on Tabs located underneath Create 4. Click on the New button under the Web Tabs section 5. Creating a new Web tab is a 5 step wizard. Step 1 is to select a Tab Layout. Simply select your desired tab layout and then click the Next button to continue.
6. Step 2 is to define content and display properties. Enter the following information in the appropriate slot. Click the Next button to continue. Tab Label: Name of the application Tab Name: BLND_Name of application Tab Style: This is up to you. This is a mandatory Salesforce field. Simply click on the magnified glass icon and select a Tab Style. Content Frame Height: 600 7. Step 3 is where you enter the URL Details. Enter the appropriate URL listed later in this document in the allotted Link URL space. Click the Next button to continue.
8. Step 4 is where you select which Profiles you want to be able to see the Name of Application tab. Click the Next button to continue. 9. Step 5 is where you select which Custom App you want to display the Name of Application tab on. 10. Click the Save button at the bottom when you are done.
11. Once you have completed creating the Name of Application tab, simply click on the DreamTeam tab at the top of the screen to launch the application.
