COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE Speakers: APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Vice Chair Greer to approve the agenda as presented (5-0). The agenda was approved as presented. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approval of Minutes from the Cultural Heritage Commission Special Meeting of November 17, 2014. 2. Approval of Minutes from the Cultural Heritage Commission Special Meeting of November 24, 2014. By Order of the Chair, the approval of the minutes was temporarily tabled, to be heard later in the meeting in order for staff to gather additional information for the Commission, prior to their approval. CONTINUED BUSINESS 3. Request for Postponement of Landmark Proceedings for the Property at 9245 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills Request from Mr. Paul Rohrer, attorney on behalf of the property owner, for postponement of Landmark proceedings by the Commission regarding the property at 9245 Wilshire Boulevard. Owner Representative: Paul Rohrer Motion by Order of the Chair to continue the item to a date uncertain (5-0). The item was continued to a date uncertain. 4. Request for Postponement of Landmark Proceedings for the Property at 9101-9111 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills Request from Mr. Steve Webb, attorney on behalf of the property owner, for postponement of Landmark proceedings by the Commission regarding the property at 9101-9111 Wilshire Boulevard. By Order of the Chair, this item was temporarily tabled, to be re-opened later in the meeting. 5. Landmark Nomination for inclusion onto Local Register of Historic Properties of the Kronish Residence property at 9439 Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills as a Local Landmark Adopt a resolution recommending City Council designate the Kronish Residence as a Local Landmark. Owner Representative: Jan Ostashay, City Historic Consultant Chris Shanley, Marmol Radziner Adrian Scott Fine, LA Conservancy Motion by Commissioner Furie, Second by Commissioner Pynoos to adopt the resolution as presented (5-0). Approval of Minutes from the Cultural Heritage Commission Special Meeting of November 17, 2014. 2. Approval of Minutes from the Cultural Heritage Commission Special Meeting of November 24, 2014. Motion by Chair Beck, Second by Commissioner Waldow to approve the minutes of November 17, 2014 as presented and the minutes of November 24, 2014 as amended (5-0). The minutes of November 17, 2014 were approved as presented, and the minutes of November 24, 2014 were approved as amended. 4. Request for Postponement of Landmark Proceedings for the Property at 9101-9111 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, item re-opened Request from Mr. Steve Webb, attorney on behalf of the property owner, for postponement of Landmark proceedings by the Commission regarding the property at 9101-9111 Wilshire Boulevard. Motion by Commissioner Furie, Second by Vice Chair Greer to continue Landmark Nomination Proceedings to a Special Meeting on February 11, 2015 (5-0). Landmark Nomination for inclusion onto Local Register of Historic Properties of Will Rogers Park, 9650 Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills as a Local Landmark Adopt a resolution recommending the City Council designate Will Rogers Park as a Local Landmark Ex Parte Communications: Chair Beck advised that she had spoken with members of the Recreation and Parks Commission regarding Landmark consideration of Will Rogers Park. . Motion by Chair Beck, Second by Vice Chair Greer to adopt the resolution as amended (5-0). The resolution was adopted as amended. 7. Landmark Nomination for inclusion onto Local Register of Historic Properties of Celluloid, a monument celebrating the independence of the City of Beverly Hills, by artist Merrell Gage on Olympic Boulevard at Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills as a Local Landmark Adopt a resolution recommending City Council designate Celluloid as a Local Landmark. Jan Ostashay, City Historic Consultant. Motion by Commissioner Waldow, Second by Vice Chair Greer to adopt the resolution as presented (5-0). The resolution was adopted as presented. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE COMMISSION COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE URBAN DESIGNER Urban Designer William Crouch advised of a Planning Commission / Cultural Heritage Commission / City Council Liaison meeting which was scheduled for January 15, 2015. Assistant City Attorney David Snow advised of Brown Act guidelines as they apply to this meeting. Associate Planner Reina Kapadia provided an update on the Historic Incentive Permit, as well as the Historic Walking App. Urban Designer William Crouch discussed potential revisions to the Master Architect List. An Ad Hoc Committee comprised of Commissioner Pynoos and Vice Chair Greer was established to work with the City s Historic Consultant, Jan Ostashay, to assist staff in updating the Master Architect List. At the request of Chair Beck and with the concurrence of the Commission, the date of the Cultural Heritage Commission meeting in April was changed to April 21, 2015. Page 4 of 5
