VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS The Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) is a USAID funded project assisting the Ministry of Health and Social welfare (MOH) to improve the effectiveness of the Ministry and County Health Teams (CHT) to fully implement the Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS) in Grand Bassa, Lofa and Nimba Counties. With the MCSP project, emphasis is being placed on qualified human resources and delivery of safe and quality Infection Prevention Control (IPC) and Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent Health services (RMNCAH) at 77 facilities in Grand Bassa, Lofa and Nimba Counties. At many facilities supported by MCSP, the County Health Teams need all categories of clinicians and non-clinicians including, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Physician Assistants, midwives (CM, RM, and RNM/CNM) etc. Job Title : Midwife (Certified, Registered or Nurse) /Nursing Director In MCSP work with the county Health teams to strengthen service delivery at the facility, a certified, registered or nurse midwife will provide maternal and child health services, including family planning at the health facility (clinic, health center or hospital). The midwife will also be responsible for working with the TTMs in the health facility catchment area for quality RMNCH service delivery, including referrals. Must have completed at least two years of training from a recognized midwifery training institute and have passed the midwifery State Board Exam and possesses a valid license Experience in working as a midwife Ability to work well in a team Good communication and patient relationship skills, according to code of ethics Fluent in written and spoken English and an added advantage is ability to speak at least Must be willing and able to live and work in rural settings Job Title : Registered Nurse including Scrub Nurse /nursing Director registered nurses will provide nursing services in line with the level of facility (hospital, health centers, and clinics) according to the EPHS. A registered nurse will provide and coordinates nursing and health care activities including supervision of personnel and promotion of primary health care activities. Provide health care services to individuals, families, groups, and communities, especially in any or all of the following areas malaria, family planning/ reproductive health, ANC, PNC, newborn, prematurity, adolescent reproductive health, mental health, EPI, IMNCI, KMC, nutrition, STI, HIV, and TB, non-communicable disease, emergency care, maternity care, medical and surgical care. 1

Experience in working as a Registered Nurse Ability to work well in a team Good communication and patient relationship skills, according to code of ethics Fluent in written and spoken English and an added advantage is ability to speak at least Must be willing and able to live and work in rural settings Job Title : Laboratory Aide Location : Grand Bassa, Lab Aides will provide all laboratory testing and the Provision of results in the clinic and assist the lab technicians in Hospitals and health centers. S/he will be responsible for rapid testing for malaria and HIV and will offer HIV counseling when necessary for pre and post test A graduate from an accredited laboratory assistants training course, with a current license to practice in Liberia. Job Title : Medical Laboratory Technician Reports To : MLT Supervisor MLT will ensure management of the lab, providing all laboratory testing and the Provision of results, as well as, assisting the lab aide/assistant when needed. S/he will be responsible for keeping stock of laboratory reagents and equipment safely, ensuring cleanliness of laboratory, disposing of laboratory waste materials according to guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, ensuring safe working environment in the laboratory and compiling laboratory activity reports to the supervisor. A graduate from an accredited Medical Laboratory Tech (MLT) school who has passed the National State Board Exam with a current license to practice as an MLT in Liberia and possesses a valid license to practice in Liberia. Experience in working as a MLT Ability to work well in a team Good communication and patient relationship skills, according to code of ethics Fluent in written and spoken English and an added advantage is ability to speak at least Must be willing and able to live and work in rural settings Job Title : Hospital Pharmacist Location : County and Hospital of Assignment Reports To : Medical Director a pharmacist is very important in ensuring quality of drugs and other commodities necessary for treatment. The pharmacist will be responsible for management of the entire drug and supply chain management system at the hospital ensuring transparency and accountability. This includes timely requisition, inventory, recording and reporting according to approved MOH guidelines and protocols. S/he is responsible to work with the team to ensure that patients received the correct medication and information with proper documentation. A graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy, with a current license to practice as a pharmacist in Liberia. Job Title : Anesthetist including Nurse Anesthetist Location : Hospital of Assignment, Lofa County Reports To : Nursing/Medical Director In MCSP work with the county health teams to strengthen service delivery at the hospital, anesthetist or a nurse anesthetist is a key player in the facility especially in the surgical unit and will provide essential anesthetic services in line with a hospital level care according to the EPHS. An anesthetist or a nurse anesthetist will provide and coordinates anesthetic or nursing anesthetic health care activities including supervision of personnel and promotion of primary health care, emergency care, maternity care, medical and surgical care activities. Correctly administer anesthetic agents /medication to patients using IPC standards and document properly. Qualifications A graduate from an accredited school of nursing anesthetist and has current license to practice in Liberia. Experience in working as an anesthetist or Nurse anesthetist Ability to work well in a team Good communication and patient relationship skills, according to code of ethics Fluent in written and spoken English and an added advantage is ability to speak at least Must be willing and able to live and work in rural settings and longer hours Job Title : Dispenser Location : County and Health facility of Assignment or pharmacist dispensers will be responsible for ensuring the availability and issuing of medication to patients according to medical prescriptions. S/he will keep records of daily and weekly of medical supplies issued to patients using tally sheets; conducts weekly physical stock taking of medical supplies in the dispensary and provides accountability to the OIC, including taking of quarterly physical medical supplies audit in the facility. A graduate from an accredited pharmacological training course, with a current license to practice as a dispenser in Liberia. Job Title : Physician Assistant (PA) /DHO/Medical Director In MCSP work with the county health teams to strengthen service delivery at the facility PAs will be responsible for, provision of clinical services and the overall management of activities in line with the level of facility (hospital, health centers, and clinics) according to the EPHS. A PA will provide and coordinate health care activities including supervision of personnel and promotion of primary health care activities. S/he will provide health care services to individuals, families, groups, and communities, especially in any or all of the following areas malaria, family planning/ reproductive health, ANC, PNC, newborn, prematurity, adolescent reproductive health, mental health, EPI, IMNCI, KMC, nutrition, STI, HIV, and TB, non-communicable disease, emergency care, maternity care, medical and surgical care. Qualifications Must have graduated from an accredited school of physician s Assistants and maintain a current license to practice as a PA in Liberia. Experience in working as a PA Ability to work well in a team Good communication and patient relationship skills, according to code of ethics Fluent in written and spoken English and an added advantage is ability to speak at least Must be willing and able to live and work in rural settings Job Title : Vaccinator vaccinators will be responsible for ensuring the availability of unexpired vaccines and consumables at the health facility at all times through proper and timely requisition. Vaccinators will ensure that the right vaccines are appropriately administered to the right patients especially children under five and pregnant women while maintaining proper storage and vaccine cold chain system. S/he will keep records of daily and weekly report of vaccines administered using tally sheets and other vaccine reporting ledgers; conducts weekly physical stock taking of vaccines and other supplies in the EPI department and provides accountability to the OIC, including taking of quarterly physical stock of vaccines and consumables in the facility. A graduate from an accredited Nurse Aide School with training as a vaccinator Must have a certificate to practice as a vaccinator in Liberia. Experience in working as a vaccinator Ability to work well in a team Good communication and patient relationship skills, according to code of ethics Fluent in written and spoken English and an added advantage is ability to speak at least Must be from the community of the health facility 5
Job Title : Registrar registrars will be responsible for recording and ensuring proper documentation of patient s information in the OPD, while assisting with compiling daily, weekly and monthly reports for the health facility. S/he will serve as the primary custodian of patients records in the facility ensuring proper filing and documentation. A high school graduate with strong writing, recording and listening skills Experience in working as a registrar in health facility and using HMIS is an added advantage Good communication and patient relationship skills Ability to work well in a team Fluent in written and spoken English and an added advantage is ability to speak at least Must be willing and able to live and work in rural settings Job Title : Security securities will be responsible for ensuring that health facilities and properties within are kept safe at all times. Securities will ensure that facility assets are documented and monitored regularly; and will report immediately any irregularities occurring at the facility. Job Title : Cleaner/ Janitor janitors / cleaners will be responsible for ensuring that health facility is kept clean at all times for the delivery of safe and quality IPC and RMNCAH services. S/he will serve as the primary person for correct facility waste management including proper disposal using IPC standards. Experience in working as a cleaner in health facility Have at least elementary education with good spoken English skill Ability to work well in a team and Good communication and patient relationship skills An added advantage is ability to speak at least the common spoken language of the county Must be from the community of the health facility Job Title : Laundry Staff Location : Hospital of assignment, Lofa County laundry staff will be responsible for ensuring that patients and hospital clothing, bed linen and other material are kept clean at all times for the delivery of safe and quality IPC and RMNCAH services. S/he will serve as the primary person for the collection, washing of dirty linens and ensuing proper washing, ironing, and distribution to all wards in the hospital especially Inpatient Department using IPC standards. Experience in working as a cleaner in health facility Have at least elementary education with good spoken English skill Ability to work well in a team and Good communication and patient relationship skills An added advantage is ability to speak at least the common spoken language of the county Must be willing and able to live and work in rural settings 7
Job Title : Nurse Aide Location : Facility of Assignment, Grand Bassa or Lofa County nurse aides will assist the health facility staff in the provision of healthcare services in line with the level of the facility (hospital, health centers, and clinics) according to the EPHS. A nurse aide will give health education on the following areas malaria, family planning/ reproductive health, ANC, PNC, newborn, prematurity, adolescent reproductive health, mental health, EPI, IMNCI, KMC, nutrition, STI, HIV, and TB, non-communicable disease, emergency care, maternity care, medical and surgical care and will perform all other tasks to keep the facility functional as assigned by their OIC or relevant supervisor. A graduate from a recognized Nurse Aide School or had received nurse aide training from any health facility and possesses a valid certificate to practice as a nurse aide in Liberia.
