SAFETY AT SAFA In order to achieve its production objectives, the management of any aviation organization requires the management of many business processes. Safety is one such business process. At SAFA, Safety is not just a priority, it is a Core Business Function. It is a way of life. No activity is undertaken unless all risks have been evaluated and eliminated or mitigated to level As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). SAFA s Safety Management System (SMS) is a systematic approach to managing safety, including the necessary organizational structures, accountabilities, policies and procedures. 3
AIRCRAFT AND TRAINING DEVICES AIRCRAFT SAFA uses all Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH DA40 NG & DA42 NG Aircraft. TRAINING DEVICES (SIMULATORS) SAFA utilizes not only advanced aircraft, but the highest quality Flight Training Devices (FTD) as well. SAFA utilizes state of the art Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH DA40 NG & DA42 NG Aircraft. The selection of the Diamond product line was largely based on its industry-leading safety record, superior performance and the fact that it possesses the most modern technology available in today s training market. The SAFA fleet is certificated and registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). The DA42 NG has a maximum speed of 178 knots (205 mph) and the DA40 NG is 157 knots (181 mph). Additionally, both aircraft are turbocharged and water-cooled which allows SAFA s fleet to stay operational when other aircraft may be grounded due to the hot ambient temperatures of the region and poor performance. Combine these features with an all airconditioned fleet and we hope you recognize a distinct advantage to undertaking your training with SAFA. SAFA has opted for Diamond Simulation s FTDs which have been developed through numerous hours of flight testing by pilots and aeronautical engineers to ensure you receive the most realistic and best training possible. DA40 NG Level 5 FTD: The Level 5 FTD is designed to provide a training platform for both procedures and operations. Just like the real airplane, it is used to simulate all tasks related to ground and flight training towards all certificates and ratings. DA40 and DA42 NG Level 6 FTD: Other than a motion system to physically move the training device platform, our Level 6 FTDs meet the same rigorous certification standards as the most advanced simulators used by the airlines and military. Down to the smallest detail, these FTDs are exactly the same as the real airplane s instrumentation, controls, and cockpit layout. The devices meet or exceed all applicable aviation regulations; they are so advanced that you can log flight time and complete many of the tasks required for pilot certification, just like you were in a real aircraft. Additionally, SAFA has improved on the basic requirements by adding an advanced visual system that uses 6 projectors instead of the industry standard 3. The reason for this is to improve the visual fidelity and your training experience positively and allow for training to continue on days with less than suitable visibility so your reach your goals on-time by minimizing training inconsistencies. SAFA has its own state of the art maintenance facility where our fleet of airplanes will be maintained in accordance with GACA and Diamond Aircraft engineering requirements as the only Authorized Service Center in the Kingdom. 4 www. saflightacademy.com
