Before you Upgrade 1.1 Back up the Existing Sites Before beginning the upgrade process, perform a standard SharePoint back up of the RecordPoint and Active Site Collections in the farm. 1.2 User Accounts The following accounts, as described in the RecordPoint installation guide, are required for upgrading RecordPoint: SharePoint Setup Account RecordPoint Install Account How to Apply the Update (with Content Upgrade) Back Up Existing Sites Gather User Accounts Install RecordPoint Software. Run MSI Deploy Solution to SharePoint RecordPoint Site Deployment and Upgrade Active Site Deployment and Upgrade This needs to be completed for each server in the farm 2.1 Install the RecordPoint Software 1. Login as the SharePoint Setup Account 2. Run the RecordPoint MSI Note: This needs to be completed for each server in the farm 2.2 Deploy the Solution to SharePoint 1. Login as the SharePoint Setup Account 2. Run RecordPoint Deployment.exe 3. On the RecordPoint Installation Wizard select Upgrade 4. Click Check (By checking, this will undergo quality checks on the Deployment Package) If this is successful the status column will turn green. Click Next to proceed 5. Click Validate If this is successful the status will turn green, click Next to proceed. 6. Click Upgrade - Selecting upgrade will deploy the upgrade solution to SharePoint. If this is successful the status will turn green. Click Next to proceed 7. 2.3 RecordPoint Site Deployment and Upgrade 1. In Central Administration, go to Application Management. 2. Go to Install/remove RecordPoint Site Collection 3. A deployment wizard will walk you through the Site Deployment steps, click Next 4. Click Check to Validate RecordPoint is correctly deployed to the farm, click Next to proceed 5. Click Next (As this is an upgrade, the RecordPoint Web Application is already deployed) 6. Select the RecordPoint Web Application in the drop down 7. Select the RecordPoint Site Collection in the second drop down 8. Click Finish to return to Application Management 9. Perform an IIS Reset and the SharePoint Timer Service (This needs to be completed for each server in the farm) 2.4 Active Site Deployment and Upgrade 1. In Central Administration, go to Application Management 2. Go to Install/Remove RecordPoint Active Site Collection 3. A deployment wizard will walk you through the Site Deployment steps, click Next Note: If the Active Site Collection exists in a different SharePoint Farm than the RecordPoint Site Collection, click the tick box for a Multi-Farm Installation. 4. Click Check to validate RecordPoint is correctly deployed to the farm, click Next to proceed 5. Click Next (As this is an upgrade, the RecordPoint Web Application is already deployed) 6. Select the RecordPoint Web Application in the drop down 7. Select the RecordPoint Site Collection in the second drop down 8. Click Upgrade (Note: This step is optional, click for content upgrades only) 9. Click Finish to return to Application Management 10.
