Newsletter 33 3 From the Treasurer After the recent steps toward more European union and free trade (Maastricht and all that) the transfer of money from one European country to another has been made much more difficult (!) for common people as we are, especially for small amounts. Those above are facsimiles of some of the results: Pl. 1: Lit. 28,500 charged on US $ 24 (= ca. Lit. 30,000) Pl. 2: Lit. 20,000 charged on US $ 60 (= ca. Lit. 90,000) For what I can undestand, after some experience, these are the recommendations for the payment of fees inside the European community (si fa per dire): 1. Carefully avoid this kind of payment (Eurocheqe and similia): 2. Do NOT use the Bank account (direct money transfer). 3. Use the Post account in the right way, that is, something like this: 4. Good luck to all of us. P.S.: Please do not forget the fees for 1994, and arrears! New Org anization for Middle East Medievalists COPTIC COURSES The Editor is trying to adjourne a list of Institutions where Coptic language, or literature, or art, or archaeology, or theology, etc., are taught. The colleagues are kindly requested to send information on this subject. The list will be published periodically in the Newsletter.
4 Newsletter 33 The Editor has provisorily listed the courses of which he has become aware in the past years. This information is far from complete and up to date, but it will become hopefully so, with the help of the colleagues. Places are also mentioned, where courses might be held, in order to solicit a statement from the colleague mentioned. In this case the item is closed by an interrogation mark. When the information is supplied by the responsible(s), it is accompanied by the reference to the year when the information was received. The list is in alphabetical order of place.
