2 SIGN IN INTO THE WEBSITE The URL for the website mailarchive.sunderland.ac.uk Click on the This is a private computer radio button to remain logged in for up to 8 hours. Enter your email User name & Password then click on Sign In. SCREEN LAYOUT The screen can be viewed in in either right or bottom reading pane ways depending on your preference and screen size. 3 SEARCH To search for archived mail enter the search term or name you want to search for in the box on the right hand side. Click on what fields you want to search in via the drop down list on the left hand side. The default setting is any part of the message, this will search for the term or name in any part of the archived messages. Select the relevant field from the drop down list to narrow the search. 4 REFINE SEARCH When your list of messages appear that meet your criteria you will get a Refine Search box displayed on the left hand side of the list. This will display the most common senders, recipients, conversations and dates that have been retrieved along with how many messages were retrieved. Selecting these will quickly refine your search to the messages that fit the extra criteria you require. When you refine the search another line is added to your search criteria. You can also refine the search criteria via dates. Click on the Date Range drop down list to refine your search which can be found at the top left of the search window. This will refine the search to your requested selection. When you select this another line is added to your search criteria. You can also enter a date and time range via the Sent From: and To: boxes which can be found at the top right of the search window. This will refine the search between the dates & times you selected. The dates & times are also added to your search criteria.

5 OPEN MESSAGE Double click on a message to open it A window will open displaying the emails that you selected. You can Forward, the message to an email account by clicking on the Forward button on the top left side of the window. Type the email account you wish to forward to and click on OK.

6 RESTORE MESSAGES To restore messages tick the boxes to the left of the message list and click on Restore select to my mailbox from above the message list. A Select a folder window will appear. Select the folder you wish it to go to and click OK. A progress bar will appear, when complete click OK. Warning: The message will be re-archived because the date of the message is in the archiving range. SIGN OUT To sign out from Exclaimer click on the Sign Out button in the top right corner.
