This aows ess heat to escape through windows, as it refects heat from within the room back into the buiding. t the same time, ow-e gass ets the sun s heat pass through the windows, thus aso contributing to its energy efficiency. This free heat from the sun is known as passive soar gain or g-vaue. higher g-vaue can be achieved when Pikington K Gass is combined with a ow-iron gass such as Pikington Optiwhite as the outer pane of an IGU. The Window Energy Rating (WER) is the Government-backed method of assessing and ranking the energy efficiency of a compete window. Taking into account its U-vaue, g-vaue and air infitration, the scheme aows easy comparison of the energy efficiency of competing windows on a scae of -G with being the best.
