Welcome address In the landscape of cancer research, the increasing knowledge about the biology of neoplastic cells but also of tumor microenvironment has provided a new level of complexity for development of molecular targeted drugs and improvements of anticancer therapy. The 2 nd International Michelangelo Conference focuses on the recent improvements in understanding the crosstalk between different signaling pathways and combining different targeted drugs as strategy to reduce the risk of tumor resistance. In particular an interesting and exciting topic of the discussion will be the role of the stroma in the modulation of immune anti-tumor response as innovative and strategic target for anticancer therapy. Gianni Bonadonna Prize for New Drug Development in Oncology On the occasion of the 2 nd International Conference on Promises and challenges of developing new drugs in oncology the Fondazione Michelangelo is proud to reconfirm also for this edition, the Gianni Bonadonna Prize for New Drug Development in Oncology, aimed to promoting and improving clinical research on the development of novel compounds. The prize of S 20.000,00 will be assigned for an original oncology clinical research project for the development of novel compounds and it is addressed to researchers up to 40 years of age. Deadline for Receipt of Applications: May 15, 2013 For more information on the criteria to apply to the prize please contact the Scientific Secretariat: e-mail: segreteria@fondazionemichelangelo.org www.fondazionemichelangelo.org Call for Abstract Participants can submit abstracts on the main topics of the International Conference before 15 th of June 2013 to segreteria@fondazionemichelangelo.org, filling in the form in attach.
