W.T. Ewen Entrance Ontario Agri Business Association The estate of the late Professor William T. Ewen, OAC faculty member in OAC who taught soil science, provides eleven entrance scholarships of $2,500 each to students entering an OAC Associate Diploma at any campus of the University of Guelph. Applicants are selected on the basis of financial need, academic achievement based on grade 12 grades (70% or higher), and participation in extracurricular and/or community activities. Preference will be given to students from a farming family in Ontario. Apply using the OAC W.T. Ewen Entrance application form and include a U of G financial needs assessment form. The Ontario Agri Business Association with the aid of the Ontario government s OSOTF and the OAC Alumni Foundation, provides two bursaries of $500 each to students with demonstrated financial need, (as determined by the University of Guelph s Needs Assessment procedure), who are in semester 3 or 4 and are interested in animal production, field crops, or business. This award will be presented to a student continuing in an agriculture at any OAC campus. The student must have completed six credits and have a cumulative minimum average of 65% or higher. The applicants must apply to their regional campus by with a two page essay outlining their current involvement in farm activities and the reasons that they chose farming as a future career. The top essay from each campus will be forwarded on to the OAC Diploma Awards Committee at Guelph for the final selection. To students with demonstrated financial need who are in their second year of the in agriculture at Alfred, Guelph, Ridgetown or Kemptville who have an interest in business and/or beef production. Students must have a minimum average of 50%. Apply by letter to your regional awards office stating interest, with a completed needs assessment." Apply with a financial needs assessment form and a letter of no more than two pages in length outlining interest in pork production. Selection will be based on highest financial need. Students registered at the Kemptville Campus who have completed a minimum of 6.0 credits of the Diploma in Agriculture. Selection will be based on highest academic achievement in courses in plant science and soil principles Three third semester students from the Agriculture Diploma, who demonstrate financial need as determined by the University of Guelph's Needs Assessment procedure. Preference will be given to residents of the Ottawa-Carleton Region. The award will be based on high academic standing. Third semester student from the Agriculture Diploma, who demonstrates financial need as determined by the University of Guelph s Needs Assessment procedure. Russell County Dairy Producer's Committee The Russell County Milk Committee will make one bursary available to a student who is entering third semester in the Agricultural at Kemptville Campus and who demonstrated the best effort during first year. The award will be granted based on financial need as determined by the University of Guelph's Needs Assessment procedure. Preference will be given to students from Russell County. Dr. Jack Britney Credit Valley Harticultural Society Friends and associates of Jack Britney, a graduate of '57A and '60 degree and former faculty member in the School of Agricultural Economics and Extension Education, provide a scholarship of $1000 to a Diploma of Agriculture graduate. Apply by letter to your Regional Campus OAC awards office by April 1st outlining your intention to transfer to a degree at the University of Guelph. To a graduating student in the Associate Diploma in Agriculture Program with high academic proficiency proceeding to any degree at the University of Guelph. ( will be awarded following registration in a degree ). The Credit Valley Horticultural Society sponsors a scholarship for an OAC student studying in horticulture at the degree or level who has completed 5.0 credits with a minimum average of 70%. Selection will be based on participation in extracurricular activities related to the field of ornamental horticulture and academic standing. Preference will be given to students who are residents of Mississauga. Apply to the OAC Awards Office or to your OAC campus awards office with a letter of no more than two pages outlining participation in extracurricular activities in the field of ornamental horticulture." Whyte Memorial Prize Student who has successfully completed first or second year in the Diploma at Kemptville Campus who has shown a special interest demonstrated by academic achievement in plant identification and/or plant propagation and landscape design. This Association and the OAC Alumni Foundation provide annually in units to in Agriculture or students with demonstrated financial need who are in Semester 3 or 4, are enrolled in Fruit and/or Vegetable Production and who had a cumulative average of 70% at the end of semester 2. An award is available to a student on successful completion of first or second year of the Diploma Program at Kemptville campus who has shown the most improvement overall." Sr Sr Sr

Associate Diploma (ADA) 125th Anniversary Blackburn David R. Leach Memorial Students enrolled in any Associate Diploma at Guelph, Alfred, Kemptville or Ridgetown who have completed semester two with a minimum cumulative average of 70% and who have demonstrated leadership ability in student organizations, 4H, Junior Farmers, or other rural community activities are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to students planning a career in farming or any aspect of the agrifood, turf or horticulture industries. In commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Ontario Agricultural College, Dr. D.J Blackburn, a retired faculty member in Rural Extension Studies and former Director of the Association Diploma Program has established this $500 scholarship. Apply by letter citing athletic and leadership contributions to your Regional Campus Awards Office by May 15. OAC degree or student who has participated in intercollegiate athletics and maintained a minimum cumulative average of 70%. Athletic excellence and leadership will be used to determine the recipient A bursary is provided in memory of David R. Leach (1950-1998) who entered OAC in 1969 as a member of the Class of OAC 73, and who graduated in agricultural science in 1974. David had a rare disability, progressive neuropathy, and his graduation was achieved as a result of his personal determination and dedication. Newman Access Grenville County Federation of Agriculture Growmark Inc. & FS Cooperatives Hudson Burnbrae Foundation This scholarship is for a student in the Associate Diploma who has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability by involvement in OAC student organizations and activities. The current year's recipients of the OAC Associate Diploma in Agriculture ""125 s"" from Alfred, Kemptville, Ridgetown and Guelph will be invited to an interview. The interviews will be timed to correspond with an OAC multi-campus fall student leadership event. The eligible candidates are expected to participate in the leadership event. Alexander Memorial Leeds Federation of Agriculture New Decade Access OAC Diploma Alumni Bursaries Ontario Grape Growers Selection will be based on the applicant's 4-H participation, academic standing, citizenship, community activities, and need as determined by the University of Guelph's Needs Assessment procedure. Preference will be given to students from Prince Edward County. Two bursaries are awarded to third semester students in any Diploma, who demonstrate financial need as determined by the University of Guelph's Needs Assessment procedure.
