Dear parents As you ll know, everyone at Anns Grove has been working really hard to make sure each and every one of your children can reach their full potential. It has been clear to governors that the hard work of the staff and children has resulted in huge improvements since our last Ofsted inspection, and we hope you feel the same. In March, Ofsted came to inspect the school. Over two days, the inspectors met with the headteacher, the leadership team, governors, children and parents. They reviewed children s books to see if progress was being made and observed the teaching in every class. They checked that we were using our resources and finances in the best way to improve your children s education and that we were doing everything we should to keep your children safe. We are grateful to everyone who completed the Ofsted questionnaire and particularly to those of you who took the time to speak to the inspectors on the day. We are proud to say that after a long and rigorous process, Ofsted have graded the school as Good. Without the hard work, wonderful behaviour and fantastic attitudes of your children, this wouldn t have been possible and, as parents, you too are part of this success. As governors, we are sure you will join us in saying a big thank you to everyone working at school your children s teachers and teaching assistants, the support staff who keep children safe and help the school run smoothly, the volunteers who donate their time to the school and, finally, Sam and the other members of the leadership team who have worked so hard to make Anns Grove a good school. If you would like to speak to me about this or anything else, you can contact me through school or by emailing me directly at sglover@annsgrove.sheffield.sch.uk. Scott Glover Chair of Governors (on behalf of the Governing Body of Anns Grove)

Taylor Shaw School meal contract caterer Catering team update Kay Brammer, cook supervisor had reason to be especially pleased recently, when all Taylor Shaw catering staff successfully passed their Level 2 Food Safety well done to whole team! This is a mandatory qualification and we ensure continued professional development refreshers are completed every 2 years. In addition Taylor Shaw hold a current certificate achieving 5 stars from the Environmental Health Department, coupled with the above qualification to support school and parent knowledge that the Taylor Shaw team implement high standards of food safety at Anns Grove. Catering audits are carried out by the area manager and in partnership with Sheffield Local Authority to ensure high standards of practice; areas encompassed on the audit include; personal hygiene, food safety, food quality, food service, pupil engagement - here at Taylor Shaw we value our customers thoughts and opinions on the menu variety, quality and dining experience to continually improve the service. Themed Days continue to be a success at Anns Grove with a monthly Breakfast Day themed menu. This year pupils have already enjoyed a Chinese New Year menu and whilst the dishes tried were new to most pupils those who opted for the dishes said how much they d enjoyed them. The Taylor Shaw catering team really enjoy their roles as caterers within Anns Grove; Kay has been a cook supervisor for school meals in Sheffield for 30 years and still loves her role, providing a nutritious meal and seeing the pupils enjoy their food still puts the icing on the cake each day for me!
