Bank of Botwana July 2010 Staff Newletter B BNK OF BOTSWN N K Y BO S T W N note Special Edition Senior Staff ppointment/ignment The Bank take pride in announcing the appointment and aignment of Senior Management taff, a indicated in thi Special Edition of. The appointment/aignment are effective July 1, 2010 and, needle to add, they are the reult of a track record of laudable performance. Thi i againt the background of the recently reorganied tructure of the Bank which reflect, in the main, two new General Manager poition and the new Financial Stability Diviion, that i intended to further enhance urveillance of the financial ector in upport of the broader economy. There i alo the enhanced banking conumer protection and public relation/education function by way of new Diviion in the Banking Superviion and the (new) Management Service Department, repectively. Similarly, the ecurity and property management function have been trengthened, and the coordinated intitutional planning and rik management ha reulted in the new Rik Management and Planning Diviion. Bank of Botwana Mr Oabile Mabua joined the Bank in 1988 a itant Manager in the Human Reource Department, after working for the Minitry of Local Government and Land for a period of ix year. In 1989, Mr Mabua wa elevated to the poition of Manager in the Human Reource Department. He wa tranferred to the Governor' Office in 1991 where he ultimately headed the Management Sytem Diviion (later renamed Information Technology Department). He then became head of the Human Reource, Banking and Currency, and Banking Superviion Department in 1997, 2000 and 2003, repectively. Mr Oabile Mabua General Manager Mr Mabua graduated from the Univerity of Botwana with a Bachelor degree in Sociology and Public dminitration in 1982; he obtained a Potgraduate Diploma in Policy nalyi and Management, a Pot Graduate Diploma in Information Sytem and a Mater Degree in Public dminitration, all from the Univerity of Southern California (US) in 1987. Mr Mabua ha attended a number of pecialied central banking coure, including the executive development programme. Mr Richard Nlebei joined the Bank in 1986 a Economit in the Reearch Department. Prior to joining the Bank, he worked a Ditrict Officer in the Minitry of Local Government and Land. He wa promoted to poition of itant Manager and Manager in the Human Reource Department in 1988 and 1991, repectively, before tranferring to the Financial Market Department a Settlement Manager in 1993, and ultimately to Deputy Director in 1995. He then tranferred to the Human Reource Department a Deputy Director and later aumed the leaderhip of the Department; he became head of the Banking and Currency Department in 2003. 2 Mr Richard H Nlebei General Manager

Bank of Botwana Mr Nlebei obtained Bachelor of rt (Political Science and Public dminitration) and Mater (Public Policy and dminitration) degree from the Univeritie of Botwana and Swaziland and Wiconin (US) in 1982 and 1985, repectively. In addition to taking part in variou hort-term training programme, Mr Nlebei ha attended the executive development programme. M Pelani Siwawa-Ndai joined the Bank in 1986 a Trainee Economit in the Reearch Department and progreed to aume increaingly higher level of reponibility, viz, Economit, Senior Economit and Principal Economit in 1990, 1997 and 1999, repectively. M Pelani Siwawa-Ndai Director, Management Service Department Following a tint in the Financial Market Department, M Siwawa-Ndai wa econded to the Botwana Confederation of Commerce, Indutry and Manpower (BOCCIM: 1993 96) a Chief Economit/Policy nalyt. In 2005, he tranferred on promotion (Deputy Director) to the Banking Superviion Department. M Siwawa-Ndai obtained Bachelor and Mater degree in Economic from the Univeritie of Botwana and Kent (UK) in 1986 and 1990, repectively. She ha attended a number of hort-term coure in central banking, including the executive management programme. 3

Bank of Botwana Dr Kealeboga Maalila joined the Bank in 1985 a Trainee Economit in the Reearch Department. He wa promoted to Economit in 1986, and tranferred to the Banking Superviion Department where he erved a Bank Examiner and Senior Bank Examiner. He then tranferred back to the Reearch Department in 1995 a Senior Economit and thereafter promoted to Principal Economit and Deputy Director in 1996 and 2004, repectively. In 2003, Dr Maalila worked for the International Monetary Fund a Special ppointee, following which he reumed duty a econd in command in the Reearch Department. Dr Kealeboga S Maalila Director, Reearch Department Dr Maalila obtained Bachelor of Commerce, Mater of Philoophy (Monetary Economic) and PhD (Economic) degree from the Univeritie of Botwana, Glagow and Mancheter, in 1984, 1989 and 2000, repectively. He ha attended a number of hort-term coure, including the executive leaderhip programme. Mr ndrew Motomi, who ha had a ditinguihed career mainly in the Reearch Department at increaing level of reponibility, will tranfer to the Banking Superviion Department a Director. He joined the Bank in 1983 a itant Supervior in the Banking Department, before tranferring to the Reearch Department a Economit in 1987. He then erved in the Financial Market Department for a period of two year and, hortly thereafter, rejoined the Reearch Department a Principal Economit. He wa later to become Deputy Director and Director of the ame Department in 1994 and 2003, repectively. Mr ndrew M Motomi Director, Banking Superviion Department 4

Bank of Botwana Mr Motomi i a graduate of the Univerity of Botwana, frican Intitute for Economic Development and Planning (Dakar, Senegal) and The Victoria Univerity of Mancheter (UK), where he obtained Bachelor, Pot-graduate Diploma and Mater degree in economic in 1983, 1987 and 1990, repectively. He worked for the International Monetary Fund a Special ppointee in 2001, and ha attended a number of relevant hort-term coure, including one on executive development. Mr Raleedi Somolekae joined the Bank in 1992 a itant Manager in the Financial Market Department, following a three-year career a State ttorney at the ttorney General Chamber, and another three year in private practice. He progreed to be Manager in the Financial Market Department and Deputy Director in the Human Reource Department in 1998 and 2000, repectively. Mr Somolekae obtained LLB and MB degree from the Univeritie of Swaziland and Botwana in 1983 and 1995, repectively, and wa admitted a Conveyancer and Notary Public in the High Court of Botwana (1989). He attended a number of relevant hort-term coure and ha undertaken executive development training. Mr Raleedi E K Somolekae Director, Banking & Currency Department 5

Bank of Botwana M Neo Raditloaneng joined the Bank in 1986 a Trainee Supervior in the Human Reource Department. Before joining the Bank, he worked a Planning Officer at the Gaborone City Council. M Raditloaneng later erved in the Reearch Department a itant Economit and Economit, before tranferring to the Banking Superviion Department where he worked for a number of year at increaing level of reponibility. She wa appointed Senior Bank Examiner and Principal Bank Examiner in 1999 and 2003, repectively. M Neo Raditloaneng Deputy Director, Banking Superviion Department (Conumer ffair) M Raditloaneng' qualification are B (Economic and ccounting), Pot-graduate Diploma (Economic) and MB obtained from the Univeritie of Botwana, Mancheter and Wale in 1982, 1989 and 2002, repectively. In addition, M Raditloaneng ha attended a number of relevant hort-term training coure and ha undertaken uperviory development training. Mr Patricia Tumedi joined the Bank in 1994 a itant Manager in the ccounting and Planning Department, after working for eleven year in the private ector and at the Botwana Development Corporation. In 1998, he tranferred to the Banking Superviion Department a Senior Bank Examiner and became Principal Bank Examiner in the ame Department in 2003. Two year later, Mr Tumedi tranferred to the ccounting & Planning Department to head the Planning and Budgeting Unit. She hold a Bachelor of Commerce (1983) and MB (1992) degree from the Univeritie of Swaziland and Bridgeport (US). Ba nk of Bot w a na Mr Godfrey Ngidi joined the Bank in 1991 in the then Exchange Control Department a itant Supervior. He wa promoted to the poition of Supervior in 1994 in the ame Department, and tranferred to the ccounting and Planning Department where he roe to the poition of itant Manager (1998). Mr Ngidi tranferred to the Banking Superviion Department in 2001 a Senior Bank Examiner and moved on to become Principal Bank Examiner in 2007. He hold a Bachelor of Commerce and MB degree from the Univeritie of Botwana and Witwaterrand (South frica), obtained in 1991 and 1997, repectively. Mr Ngidi ha attended a number of relevant hort-term coure. Mr Godfrey Ngidi Deputy Director, Banking Superviion Department Mr Irene Rakgati joined the Bank in 1995 a itant Supervior in the Human Reource Department. Mr Rakgati obtained Bachelor of Commerce degree and Mater degree in Buine dminitration from the Univerity of Botwana in 1995 and 2000, repectively. She wa promoted to itant Manager and Manager in the ame Department in 2001 and 2006, repectively. She ha attended a number of relevant hort-term training coure which include uperviory development training. 7 M Irene K Rakgati Deputy Director, Human Reource Department

Ba nk of Bot w a na Mr Grant Buckmater joined the Bank in 1996 a Manager (Property Management) and erved the Bank for a period of about ix year. He left at the expiration of hi contract and rejoined the Bank in 2004 in the ame capacity. fter graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering in 1982 from the Univerity of uckland (New Zealand), Mr Buckmater worked a a Site gent for a civil contruction firm in New Zealand for over two year. Thereafter he worked for variou conultancie before etablihing hi own, pecialiing in project management and civil engineering. Mr Grant Buckmater Head, Property Management Diviion Mr Leonard Selema joined the Bank a Senior Security Officer in 2000, after even year of ervice in the Botwana Police Service where he roe to the rank of Superintendent. He wa promoted to the poition of Principal Security Officer in 2000, and ha had the opportunity to erve a head of ecurity operation at the Bank' Francitown Branch. Mr Selema obtained Bachelor and Mater degree in Humanitie and Diplomatic Studie from the Univeritie of Botwana and Wetminter (UK) in 1992 and 1997, repectively.
