1 Certified Manager Certification Application Intruction Completing the Application Congratulation on chooing to purue the Certified Manager (CM ) certification. The application i the tarting point toward obtaining the CM certification. It determine your eligibility to take the CM certification exam by aeing point in two area: education and experience. Pleae read the information that follow before beginning. Incomplete application will delay the review and approval proce. The Application Proce The Certified Manager application proce conit of four tep. Step 1: Enroll in the Program Go to the Certified Manager certification page on the Outreach & Engagement webite, under noncredit program and click the Enroll button on the top left of the page. *Group applicant hould conult the JMU Outreach & Engagement CM program coordinator for intruction before regitering. Step 2: Regiter and Pay CM Program Fee Regiter and pay CM program fee online by credit card [Via, MaterCard, Dicover or American Expre] or ubmit regitration form with payment by check. Program fee mut be paid prior to CM regitration. Step 3: Complete and Submit the CM Application and Documentation Complete the CM application and aemble documentation to verify education and experience point. See the FAQ below or contact JMU Outreach & Engagement at or How do I know if I meet the eligibility requirement for CM certification? To be eligible to take the CM exam, an applicant mut be able to document a minimum of 10 point for education and experience. Specific point aignment are detailed on the CM application. How long do I have to complete the CM certification? Applicant have 15 month from the date of application approval to complete the three CM exam. Applicant that do not complete the exam by the expiration date may renew their CM application one time for an additional 12 month for a $75 fee. Will I receive a trancript from Jame Madion Univerity? The CM certification i a noncredit program of profeional development, thu, it i not eligible for college credit or a college trancript. Applicant that need evidence of coure completion can ue their final exam letter which document completion of the three CM exam. Applicant can alo requet a noncredit trancript from JMU Outreach & Engagement. What documentation i required to upport the CM application? Applicant mut provide documentation to upport the eligibility point recorded on their CM application. For experience, a igned employer reference i required from the applicant mot recent employer. For education, either a trancript or photo copy of the applicant diploma or training certificate i required. Military peronnel may ubmit a DD214, Smart Trancript, Statement of Service or other appropriate documentation. What happen after I become CM certified? Applicant that obtain CM certification will receive a CM certificate iued by the Intitute of Certified Profeional Manager and a elf-promotion kit which explain how to obtain the mot value from the CM certification. Certified Manager may ue the profeional credential CM after their name to publicize their accomplihment to the buine community. The CM credential remain current for one year, at which time the CM mut recertify by paying a $50 annual fee and completing four profeional development activitie. Certified Manager Application PG 2

Point mut be documented via a Reference Statement completed and igned by your current or mot recent employer or a copy of your reume. If you are elf employed or are unable to provide a reference tatement becaue an employer i no longer in buine, pleae provide a note to thi effect and ubmit a copy of your reume. Point for military ervice hould be documented by a Joint Service Trancript. Active duty military do not need to provide a reume.
