Chandigarh is waived off in respect of wards of serving defence personal/exservicemen vide letter 19/1/3-IH(3)- 2007/18322 dated 14.09.2007. This is applicable for MBBS Course only. 13. Information regarding the number of seats and procedure for admission of NRI candidates is given under the respective courses at Page 7 9 : MBBS (03 seats ), BDS (15 seats), BAMS (08 seats), BHMS (08 seats). No separate entrance test is conducted for candidates seeking admission against Foreign Indian Students (NRI) seats and they are not required to appear in NEET. (with the exception of NRI/PIO candidates applying for BDS course who are present in India at that time.) 2

CENTRALISED COUNSELLING PROCEDURE A. The date for this round of counseling will be notified on the website www.gmch.gov.in Note : There will be no Third Counselling. A waiting list of candidates upto 25% of the total seats will be prepared for filling up the seats, which may fall vacant subsequent to the second counselling. The application form may be downloaded from GMCH website: gmch.gov.in and payment of US $ 100 or ` 5000/- in case of NRI applicants and ` 500/- for (General & physical disability category) and ` 300/- (SC Category). Each application form complete in all respects should be submitted to the Co-ordinator, Centralized Medical Admission 2013 alongwith payment, if downloaded form is sent (see S. No. 4 & 5 on page 3). B. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: I. MBBS U.T. Pool (Indian Nationals) General, SC, Physical disability The applicant must fulfill the following conditions:- 1. Attained the age of 17 years on or before 31 st December 2013. 2. Passed +2 (12 th Class) examination from Schools / Colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and situated in the UT of Chandigarh, as regular student of the said Schools / Colleges( This condition does not apply for wards of serving defence personnel /ex-servicemen for which

. see Point No. 4 below). He/She should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Bio-technology & English individually, and must also have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology at +2 level in the first attempt. However, in the case of members of the Scheduled Castes, relaxation in marks not exceeding 10% shall be allowed i.e minimum 40% ; for physical disability candidates the minimum percentage shall be 45%. 3. As per the amended Regulation of Medical Council of India, the eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS course is 50% for general category; 40% for SC and 45% for candidate with physical disability separately in qualifying examination (+2 or equivalent) and competitive entrance examination (i.e. NEET) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology. 4. The condition of passing +2 from U. T. Chandigarh is waived off in respect of wards of serving defence personal / ex-servicemen vide letter no. 19/1/3-IH(3)- 2007/18322 dated 14.09.2007. 5. Qualified in NEET 2013 conducted by CBSE, New Delhi and meets the minimum percentage criteria of the MCI regulations. The admission will be based on merit in NEET 2013. 6. For NRI (Foreign Indian student admission ) please see Page no. 7-9. II. MBBS (Central Pool Seats, One) Seats earmarked to the Central Pool Scheme seat (one) for MBBS Course will be filled up on the basis of recommendations of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi. These recommendations are made by the ministry from names sponsored by various authorities as given below. The eligible candidates should not apply for such seats to the Institutions / Colleges / University or directly to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The applicants for Central Pool Scheme seat should apply to following authorities only after obtaining the minimum marks in All India National Eligibility - cum- Entrance Test for admission to the MBBS course as provided in the amended MCI Regulations :- Sr. Category Authority to whom the applications are to be No. 01. (All India Quota, 07 seats) The 07 (seven) All India Quota Seats For MBBS course shall be filled through Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi. IV. B.D.S. (General, Reserved) The applicant must fulfill the following conditions:- 1. Attained the age of 17 years on or before 31 st December 2013. 2. Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination of the Punjab School Education Board / CBSE, New Delhi or its equivalent examination conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council, as recognized by the syndicate with at least 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) provided he / she has qualified in English of 10+2 standard. However, for students belonging to reserved category (SC/ST), the minimum marks for admission shall be 40% as per rules and regulations of Dental Council of India. 3. Qualified NEET-2013 conducted by CBSE, New Delhi. The admission will be based on merit in NEET 2013. 4. In case no candidate from District Hoshiarpur (Preferably of Judge (Jaj) Community) is available, these reserved seats will be filled through open merit. 5. For Foreign National/PIO/NRI, please see page no. 7-9. 6. Furthermore, any other instructions issued by the Panjab University, Chandigarh shall apply. V. B.A.M.S. The applicant must fulfill the following conditions:- 1. Attained the age of 17 years on or before 31 st December, 2013. 2. Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination from recognized Boards / Bodies / Councils or any other examination recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Panjab University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology obtaining at least 50% marks in the aggregate, provided he/she is qualified in English of 10+2 Standard. However, in case of candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes, relaxation in marks not exceeding 10% shall be allowed. 3. Qualified NEET 2013 conducted by CBSE, New Delhi. Admission will be based on Merit in NEET. 6

Important Note:- Counselling /Admission will be subject to the approval from Govt. of India on the recommendation of Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi. VI. B.H.M.S. The applicant must fulfill the following conditions:- 1. Attained the age of 17 years on or before 31 st December 2013. 2. Passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/Body/Council or any other examinations recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examinations by the Panjab University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at +2 level; 3. Qualified CET 2013 conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. VII. NRI (Foreign Indian Students) / PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) and Foreign Nationals 1. General conditions for all courses: a. The admission under this category will be based on the directions/ orders/ guidelines of the Chandigarh Administration (For MBBS Course) and Panjab University (For all courses) to which the colleges are affiliated. b. The admissions guidelines for NRI (Foreign Indian Student) issued by Panjab University, Chandigarh vide letter No. Misc./A- 6/6126-6376 dated 13.06.2008 states that All the admissions against NRI seats in the Panjab University must be strictly limited to genuine NRIs and / or their sons and daughters. In continuation vide letter No. Misc/A-6/10042-13042 dated 16.07.2012, the Vice Chancellor has approved the recommendations of the committee to the following effect: Only the following categories or classes of persons will be eligible for admission against the NRI quota and all admissions must be made accordingly. 1. Foreign National i.e. nationals or citizens of countries other than India who are not persons of Indian origin. 2. Persons of Indian origin who are citizens of countries other than India and hold the passport of the country concerned. 3. Children i.e., sons and daughters of persons of Indian origin (who may, or may not, be citizens of countries other than India), provided they have resided in a country other than India for a minimum period of three years immediately preceding the year of admission in the University. Explanation: The aforesaid condition of residence for a minimum period of three years in a country other than India means actual, physical residence on a regular basis. Notional, Deemed or constructive residence of any kind shall not be considered for this purpose. Accordingly, possession of a green card will ipso facto not confer eligibility or entitlement for admission. c. No separate entrance test will be conducted for admission under NRI/PIO/ Foreign student category. Please refer to the section on the relevant course for the criteria for determination of merit. (given below.) 7

d. NRI Candidates (MBBS / BDS Course) must apply for admission on the application form available at Appendix - E of the brochure (Page 19). e. NRI category seats pertaining to BAMS/BHMS course: The candidates should apply to the Principal of the concerned college for which purpose separate advertisements will be issued by the colleges concerned. f. Eligibility & Equivalence Certificate: NRI/Foreign Indian Student/ PIO/ Foreign Student will have to obtain the eligibility & equivalence certificate for the qualifying examination to determine its equivalence to 10+2 examination of PSEB/CBSE/ICSE. This is an essential requirement & the certificate is to be obtained from the Panjab University, Chandigarh (Eligibility & Equivalence is determined by the Panjab University, Chandigarh). g. In case a seat under the NRI category remains vacant, the same shall be filled from General category candidates as per merit of NEET (for MBBS/BDS/BAMS) & CET for BHMS. 2. Eligibility and Merit for NRI seats (03 Seats) for MBBS Course In addition to the general conditions above, under the NRI Category 03 seats shall be filled up as per preference order of Category 1 and 2, given as under:- First preference will be given to those NRI candidates who have ancestral background of Chandigarh (Category 1): For ancestral background of Chandigarh, the grandparents / parents of the candidates should be resident of Chandigarh for a minimum period of 5 years at anytime since the origin of Chandigarh and should have immovable property in his / her name in Chandigarh for the last at least 5 years. A certificate to this effect is required from DC-cum-Estate Officer or Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh. Second preference will be given to those NRI candidates who have ancestral background of States / UTs other than UT Chandigarh (Category 2). A certificate regarding ancestral background of the other State / UT from the competent authority is to be submitted in case of students with ancestral background of other states / UTs. There will be no separate test/ entrance test for the candidates applying for NRI/Foreign Indian Student. These candidates will have to obtain the eligibility & equivalence certificate for their qualifying examination from the Panjab University, Chandigarh. (as mentioned in general condition point no. f ) Determination of merit: The Candidates against NRI seats will be admitted on the basis of merit determined by the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Biotechnology (PCB / Biotechnology) in the qualifying examination. For this, the candidate must provide the certificate of 10+2 / Pre-medical / 10+2+3 system qualifying examination from any university / board showing detailed % marks / explanation sheets of grade. The candidates must preferably provide the 8

percentage marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology as well as English of both Class 10+1, 10+2 level. Merit shall be determined on the basis of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology of Class 12 Level or its Equivalent level which shall be the qualifying examination. If a candidate provides the grade and does not provide the exact percentage marks, then the merit shall be determined on the basis of the lower of the percentage range i.e. if the Grade is B (percentage range for B = 80-89%) then marks for computation purpose shall be 80%. However, if the candidate provides the exact percentage i.e. 86% then the marks for computation purpose shall be 86%. Note-1 If sufficient number of candidates under 1 st category are eligible and available then they will be admitted first even if students under subsequent category are higher in merit. Note-2 The NRI students will have to give a bank guarantee (within one month) for the balance fee, if they opt to pay fee in installments as enumerated on page no.10 instead of paying in lumpsum i.e. US $ 75000. Note-3 For MBBS Course, it may be noted that Foreign Indian Student (NRI) seats are not open for Foreign Nationals who are not persons of Indian Origin. 3. Eligibility and Merit for NRI / PIO/ Foreign seats (15 Seats) for BDS Course In addition to the general conditions, a. No separate entrance test is conducted for candidates seeking admission against Foreign Indian Students (NRI) seats in BDS. b. Candidates who are present in India will be admitted on the basis of merit in NEET- 2013 if otherwise eligible as per Panjab University Norms. c. NRI candidates living abroad shall be admitted on basis of their Scholastic Aptitude Test II (SAT-II). GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION TO MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS GENERAL RULES I. Candidates will apply for admission for the Course of their choice i.e. MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS on the prescribed form for that course only as per details given below after determining their eligibility (Appendix G - Application form) i. Blue form - MBBS ii. Yellow form - BDS iii. Pink form - BHMS iv. Green form - BAMS II. Admitted students will fill up admission form of the course / college of their choice and complete other formalities as per the regulations of the concerned college. Fees are to be paid on the spot on the day of the admission / counselling. III Candidates who fail to appear for interview-cum-counselling on the specified date and time will not be considered. The candidates must ensure that they must report at the counselling venue on the stipulated date on or before 9:30am sharp. IV The candidates should bring with them the following original documents at the time of interview-cum-counselling and attach Photostat copies (self attested) with the application form. 1. NEET 2013 Result Card/ CET 2013 card (in case of BHMS). 2. 10+1 Certificate of the School / College concerned. 3. 10+2 Certificate of the Board concerned. 4. Matriculation certificate showing the date of birth. 5. Affidavit attested by the Magistrate 1 st Class/Notary Public, explaining gap in studies, if any. 6. Character certificate from the institution last attended: a. For MBBS Certificates as per Appendix A, B & C (Page 16-17). b. For BDS / BAMS / BHMS Certificates as per Appendix A & C (Page 16-17). 7. Proof for claim of reserved category,if claimed as per reservation rules. a. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes & Tribes, a certificate to this effect, issued by the Tehsildar / Magistrate 1 st Class / Deputy Commissioner of the area to which an applicant actually belongs. A certificate not bearing the seal of the competent authority will not be accepted. A specimen copy of the certificate is appended with this brochure as Appendix D (Page 18). 8. Candidates claiming admission in the Physical Disability category must provide the necessary Physical Disability certificate as per the specimen provided. (Page 21, Appendix H) 9. Three photographs of passport size (5 cm x 4 cm) 10. Income Certificate showing total yearly income from all the sources issued by the employer in case of salaried parents /guardians and an affidavit attested by the Oath 12

V VI VII Commissioner in case of other non-salaried parents / guardians. Any seat(s), which remain vacant from any of the reserved categories shall be dereserved and added to the general category seats at the end of the counselling for the reserved categories. The student belonging to a reserved category who obtains admission on the basis of his / her merit in the general category shall not be counted towards the seats for the reserved categories concerned. ADMISSION CRITERIA:- i. Admission will be made strictly on merit for all categories of candidates. A separate merit list for each category will be prepared based on the marks obtained in NEET 2013 conducted by CBSE, New Delhi. The result of NEET, ipso facto, does not entitle a candidate to get admission. For BHMS the merit shall be based on CET. ii. In the event of a tie in the marks obtained in NEET, (CET for BHMS) a candidate getting higher percentage of total marks in the qualifying (10+2) examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Biotechnology shall rank higher and if the marks in (10+2) examination in the said subjects are also the same, then the candidate older in age shall rank higher. iii. No alterations will be allowed in the application form after its submission. iv. In case the information furnished or certificates/documents submitted are found to be fake or the candidate is found to have withheld or concealed information in the application form, notwithstanding legal action under the law of the land, his/her admission shall stand cancelled and the fee deposited shall be forfeited. v. Applications received late or incomplete will be rejected. vi. All legal disputes relating to admission of students will be subject to courts having jurisdiction in Chandigarh. vii. A candidate who reports late on the day of counselling or on any subsequent date of counselling will not be eligible for the seat according to his/her original merit position, but will be offered a seat where the seats are available at that time. viii. Any candidate who could not attend the first counseling due to any reason, he/she continues to remain eligible to appear and be considered for selection in subsequent counseling as per his/her NEET Merit. (CET merit for BHMS) ix. It is mandatory for the candidates to attend counseling in person for admission at their own expense. No proxy is allowed. x. The candidature of the eligible candidates, who do not deposit the prescribed fees in full and original certificates immediately after selection, shall stand automatically cancelled and vacancies so caused shall be offered to the candidates next in order of merit. No correspondence or appeal in this connection will be entertained by the Admission Committee. The attested copies of the certificates or similar other documents will not be entertained for granting admission to a candidate to the MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS Course. 13

xi. Candidates passing their (10+2) or equivalent examination from Boards/ Councils other than Schools Education Boards of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi State will have to submit migration certificate from the respective Council / Board within a period of one month from the date of enrolment. xii. The original certificates of the selected students will be retained by the College and shall be returned only if the seat is surrendered by the candidate, as per instructions received from Director General Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi vide letter No. F.No. U 12021/33/2209-MEC (Pt.II) dated 03.02.2010. xiii. The selected candidates should be declared medically fit by the constituted medical board at the time of their admission to the course. xiv. All admissions to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS Courses shall be provisional and subject to the approval by Panjab University. xv. MBBS seats for Central Pool and All India Quota are on Page No. 5 and 6. VI. RESERVATION OF SEATS: a) MBBS (Union Territory Pool): i) Scheduled 14% i.e. 07 Seats Caste ii) Physical disability 03% i.e. 02 Seats (1 st preference will be for candidate suffering from Locomotor Disabilities of Lower Limbs between 50%- 70%, 2 nd preference will be given to the candidates suffering from Locomotor Disabilities of Lower Limbs between 40%- 50%, in case no suitable candidate from 50% -70% disability is available) iii) Scheduled Tribe Nil b) B.D.S.: Seats: Open & Reserved The number of seats as announced in the Admission Notice shall be strictly adhered to, except for such minor adjustment as may be necessary on account of rounding off, of fractions to accommodate reservations. i) Scheduled Caste 15% i.e. 13 Seats ii) Scheduled Tribe 7.5% i.e. 06 Seats iii) Jaj Community - 2 Seats Inter-Changeability & Transfer of Seats In the Reserved categories given the seats shall be regarded as interchangeable. That is to say, if a sufficient number of eligible candidates are not available to fill up the seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes, seats may be filled up from among the eligible candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes, and vice-versa. i) In case sufficient number of eligible candidates, belonging to both SC/ST are not available, the vacant seats shall be transferred to the open merit category. ii) In case sufficient numbers of eligible candidates, belonging to Foreign Indian Students (NRI) are not available, the vacant seats shall be transferred to the open merit category. 14
