Title: Preschool Teacher Reports To: Early Childhood Specialist/Pre -K Program Director Employed By: Hanley Harper Group (HHG) Send Resume and Cover Letter To: speters@hanleyharpergroup.com BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Pre -K Program Director, the preschool teacher will create an environment that fosters student development, while providing for the opportunity to receive the proper guidance and instruction needed to promote academic, social, mental, psychological and emotional well being, consistent with the goals and principles of the Great Start Readiness Program ( GSRP ) and the Academy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for following all guidelines of the GSRP as outlined in the GSRP Implementation Manual published by the State of Michigan Will attend interagency meetings and conduct required parent advisory committee meetings and parent group meetings Assist in the maintenance of current licensing from the County In cooperation with all preschool staff, the preschool teacher will assist in ensuring that files are complete and updated student information is maintained (this includes proper documentation of risk factors, records of interviews and home visits with families) In conjunction with preschool staff, the preschool teacher will assist in ensuring that all SRSD information is accurate and complete Must maintain positive relationships between home, school and community In conjunction with preschool staff, the preschool teacher will help ensure the completion of all reports relative to the GSRP funding, including, but not limited to: o Budget o Final Expenditure Report o Student Count o Mid-Year Report(s) o Community Needs and Resources o Implementation Plan o Program Quality Assessment o Narrative Summary Prepares course objectives and curriculum for developmentally appropriate daily routines in accordance with GSRP guidelines and the High-Scope Curriculum and/or requirements set by the Academy Board Coordinates class field trips CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT AND PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT: Maintains order in classroom and on the playground Maintains classrooms in a neat and clean manner Discuss pupils development, achievement and behavior with parents Provides and supervises two home visits and two parent teacher conferences during the school year Holds parent group meetings and parent advisory committee meetings as required by GSRP grant

OTHER: Coordinates the work of teachers and volunteers in classroom Runs staff meetings and other preschool-related events and activities Participates in in-service training as assigned Reports needed repairs and maintenance to the program director Performs other duties as may be assigned Satisfactory criminal background check required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor s degree in early childhood educati on and a ZA Endorsement on Michigan Teaching Certificate Shall possess a valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement(s) for all subject area(s) being taught Must have evidence of meeting highly qualified requirements, as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
