The project was funded by a grant from the Oregon Occupational Safety & Health Administration. Service to Community 1. Director, Occupational Hearing Conservation Course, 1994 - present : The 2 ½ day course prepares safety personnel, occupational nurses and others for national certification as Occupational Hearing Conservationists. It is approved by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). I direct these courses three times per year at Portland State University. My duties include: course management, practicum supervision and lectures on audiometry, noise measurement, auditory perception and the physics of sound. I have also directed CAOHC courses in Bismarck, North Dakota, and Anchorage, Alaska. 2. Development of the PSU Hearing Aid Bank, 1994-1997. This project provided more than 350 needy adults and children in Oregon with re-conditioned hearing aids. The expansion of the PSU Hearing Aid Bank was made possible through grants received from service clubs in Oregon. CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES 1.
