3 inpatient, acute care-rehabilitation setting. I also conducted diagnostic language evaluations for children on an outpatient basis and supervised speech pathology master s students in this setting. Educational Assessment Systems, Inc Copper NE, Albuquerque, NM Education Assessment Systems, Inc. (EASi) is a company that contracts therapists out to school settings across the state of New Mexico. Working with this company afforded me with a wide variety of experiences. During the two years that I worked there, I had the opportunity to work for three days out of the week at the New Mexico School for the Deaf. My clients, all Deaf or hard of hearing, ranged in age from two to 13. I addressed the following in therapy: emergent language, speech reading, language therapy (expressive and receptive) in American Sign Language, English and Spanish, articulation, oral motor disorders, reading, and aural rehabilitation. For the other two days of the week, I was placed in a public middle school the first year, and in a public mid-high school the second. At these two schools I worked with students ranging in age from 11 to 17. All the students I worked with were in some level of special education and were labeled mentally retarded, learning disabled, or language disordered. The majority of the therapy I provided was in the area of language (syntax, semantics, and discourse), however I also provided some articulation therapy and therapy for apraxia. In this setting, I also worked closely with the classroom teachers in creating an optimal learning environment for the students. In addition to providing therapy, I conducted diagnostic testing and was involved in regular staff meetings, IEP and IFSP meetings. I worked cooperatively with the audiologist, physical therapist and occupational therapists in every setting. Often the physical therapist, occupational therapist and I provided combined therapy at the School for the Deaf. At the mid-high school, the occupational therapist and I provided joint, weekly therapy for a group of students in special education. Graduate Student Clinician Offsite Field Practicum University Health System, 4502 Medical Drive, San Antonio, Texas Worked with a variety of patients in this acute, level I trauma hospital setting. Also worked closely with supervisor treating and evaluating infants with feeding disorders, and fitting patients with tracheostomy with Passy-Muir valves. Treatment settings include acute, inpatient, outpatient, and brain injury day program.
