Number) United Kingdom Accreditation Service High Street Feltham, Middlesex TW13 4UN UKAS Technical/Peer Assessor Keyword List Name of applicant Applicant assessors are asked to indicate areas of Audiology activities / examinations / procedures in which they consider themselves highly competent or competent to act as a UKAS assessor. Please list other activities / examinations / procedures that you consider to be relevant. Highly competent means the individual has had a high level of practical experience gained as a senior practitioner within the last 4 years of activities / examinations / procedures in the area, either by actually conducting the activities / examinations / procedures or being in a managerial position responsible for, and in regular contact with, staff conducting the activities / examinations / procedures. The individual also has a detailed understanding of current principles, regulations and challenges relating to the areas for which competence are claimed. Competent means the individual has had appreciable practical experience and /or has a detailed understanding of the activities / examinations / procedures in the area, but not necessarily recent experience of conducting the activities / examinations / procedures. The individual also has a detailed understanding of current principles, regulations and challenges relating to the areas for which competence are claimed. 3 Appendix A _ Technical Competence Criteria for Audiology The headings below identify the normal range of activities for an Adult Hearing Aid Service, Audiology Service and Paediatric Audiology Service respectively. Hearing Aid Technicians and or Audiologists would normally possess a (i.e. range of skills and competencies) relevant to the area of work for which he or she is employed.
