State Center Community College District Dual Enrollment 101
Valley Regional Occupational Program is located in Sanger and it was established in 1971 as a JPA (Joint Power Agreement) ROP between Kings Canyon, Kingsburg Joint Union High School, Parlier, Sanger, and Selma School Districts. In 2015, Cutler-Orosi, Dinuba joint the JPA making VROP the only ROP in the state to expand their districts.
State Center Community College District serves approximately one million people and 18 unified and high school districts in more than 5,743 square miles of urban and rural territory, including most of Fresno and Madera counties and portions of Kings and Tulare counties. Total district enrollment for the fall semester 2015 is over 45,000 students.

Articulation process: Our Partnership started over 15 years ago, when the colleges started Articulating classes with High Schools. Regional Classes: Fire Fighting, Wildland and Natural Resources, Aviation and Flight Science, Nursing (CNA and Future Nurses Program). Joint Advisory Meeting: Reedley College and VROP partnering to provide a Career Pathways Summit and Joint Advisory Meeting for our instructors and business advisory committee members.
Business Award: VROP and Reedley College select a Business for Outstanding Partnership. Students CTE Skills Competition: Tiger ROmP (RC) Career Skills Challenge (FCC) Ag Days College CTE programs visits Instructors: Share instructors to teach High School and College Courses Many meet minimum qualifications for SCCCD

Junior College College HR Department and Deans review HS teachers application HS Teacher Meets with: Department Dean Department Chair Division faculty College Faculty visits schools that have Shops/Labs to determine if the HS facility meets College standards Example (Welding, Construction, etc.)
Bring it all together. 1. HS teacher completes all necessary paperwork to become Adjunct. 2. Meet with Division Dean to schedule courses. (3-4 Months before semester begins) 3. Courses are scheduled 4. Students enroll with in the time frame set by the college

Completing the SCCC application for Admission No More than 5 unexcused absences in prior semester 2.5 Cumulative GPA C or better in prior semester of year long Valley ROP Course Student has no major discipline and behavioral issues in and out the class No suspensions during the current school year Teacher Approval and Recommendation if GPA is below 2.5 or any of the above requirements are not met.
