ABOUT The Hispanic-Serving Health Professions Schools (HSHPS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit member-based organization established in 1996 to address the mounting public health issues of providing quality and culturally competent healthcare to Hispanics living in the United States. Today, HSHPS is composed of schools of medicine, public health, nursing, pharmacy, and dentistry and works with various partners (e.g., student groups, government agencies, etc.). DESCRIPTION The HSHPS is looking to hire multiple office interns. All positions will be based in our Washington, D.C. office located in Woodley Park (metro accessible). All positions are full time and there may be some flexibility to telecommute. PROGRAMS INTERN The Programs Intern will be assisting the Program Manager with managing the day to day operations of the HSHPS Graduate Fellowship Training Program and Student Mentorship Program for Hispanic Health Research. Tasks include, but are not limited to: data entry into program database, sending invitations and certificate of appreciation to lecture speakers, arranging annual program booklet, assisting Program Manager with orientation and closing session, addressing student concerns, coordinate weekly lectures online, etc. detailed orientated, extremely organized, working knowledge of excel, must feel comfortable speaking with individuals over the phone and in person, ability to multitask, and Spanish fluency is preferred but not required. administration, sociology, Spanish, Latin American /Chicano studies, program evaluation, public health, business administration, data entry, health administration, counseling, social work, or conference/event planning.

LOGISTICS INTERN The Programs Intern will be assisting the Program Manager with coordinating logistics for the HSHPS Graduate Fellowship Training Program and Student Mentorship Program for Hispanic Health Research. Tasks include, but are not limited to: data entry into program database, coordinating housing arrangements for fellows, coordinating travel arrangements for fellows, etc. knowledgeable about booking airfares, some working knowledge of managing housing leases and Spanish fluency is preferred but not required. administration, health administration, counseling, social work, or conference/event planning. ALUMNI RELATIONS INTERN The Alumni Relations Intern will be assisting the Programs Manager with managing the day to day operations of developing relations with HSHPS programs alumni. Tasks include, but are not limited to: cultivating relationships with HSHPS program alumni, drafting letters, developing and disseminating alumni surveys, assembling informational packages for alumni, assessing alumni needs, recruiting members for alumni association, coordinating meeting for alumni association Board of Directors, etc. Spanish fluency is preferred but not required, and strong writing skills. administration, communications, human resources, public health, health administration, health professions (e.g., medicine, public health, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, etc.) or career development. EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT INTERN The Executive Assistant Intern will be assisting the Executive Director (ED) with managing the day to day relations with HSHPS Board of Directors (BOD) and partners. Tasks include, but are not limited to: managing the ED s calendar, arranging travel accommodations for ED and BOD, draft letters, attend meetings with or on behalf of ED and BOD, coordinate bi-annual BOD meeting, coordinate

monthly BOD subcommittee meetings, take minutes (i.e., notes) during meetings, create marketing materials for meetings, etc. detailed orientated, some working knowledge of excel, some working knowledge of google calendars, must feel comfortable speaking with individuals over the phone and in person, ability to multitask, and strong writing skills. higher education administration, business, project management, health administration, grants management, communications, public administration, program evaluation, logistics, or meeting/events planning. MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT INTERN The Membership Engagement Intern will be assisting the Executive Director (ED) with managing the day to day operations of membership relations and recruitment efforts. Tasks include, but are not limited to: arranging annual organizational report, drafting letters, developing and disseminating membership surveys, assembling membership recruitment packages, assist ED with maintaining relationships with existing members, assembling informational packages for member s Deans and Institutional Representative, etc. Spanish fluency is preferred but not required, and strong writing skills. higher education administration, business, project management, grants management, communications, public administration, administration, or logistics. EVENTS INTERN The Events Coordinator Intern will be assisting the Executive Director (ED) with managing the day to day operations in the planning of HSHPS hosted and cohosting events across the nation. Tasks include, but are not limited to coordinating and managing logistics for: Hispanic Heritage Month, annual meeting, networking events, etc. knowledgeable about booking airfares, some working knowledge of managing housing leases and Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN The Social Media Intern will be assisting the Communications Manager with managing the day to day operations for the promotion of the HSHPS brand and HSHPS programs. Tasks include, but are not limited to; daily entries for Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook; creating videos for YouTube channel, coordinating TwitterChats, coordinating GoogleHangout Events, drafting and disseminating bimonthly e-newsletter, etc. detailed orientated, some working knowledge of social media platforms, strong written and oral communication skills, and Spanish fluency is preferred but not required. administration, communications, Spanish, Latin American /Chicano studies, public health, health administration, or career development. STUDENT AFFAIRS INTERN The Student Affairs Intern will be assisting the Communications Manager with managing the day to day operations for the promotion of the HSHPS programs. Additionally, the intern will be assisting the Executive Director with managing the

day to day operations of partnership relations. Tasks include, but are not limited to: cultivating relationships with student groups both within universities and within professional associations, drafting letters, developing and disseminating partner surveys, assembling informational packages for partners, assessing partner needs, etc. Spanish fluency is preferred but not required, and strong writing skills. administration, communications, human resources, Spanish, Latin American /Chicano studies, public health, health administration, health professions (e.g., medicine, public health, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, etc.) or career development. TALENT ACQUISITION INTERN The Talent Acquisition Intern will be assisting the Communications Manager with managing the day to day operations for the recruitment of participants for the HSHPS programs. Tasks include, but are not limited to: contacting program applicants to ensure they submit applications, cultivating relationships with universities career centers/services, attending career fairs/conferences/events, coordinating informational sessions, etc. Spanish fluency is required, and strong writing skills. higher education, student affairs, business, human resources, project management, public administration, communications, Spanish, Latin American /Chicano studies, public health, health administration, health professions (e.g., medicine, public health, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, etc.) or career development. RESEARCH INTERN The Research Intern will be assisting the Executive Director with drafting and submitting research abstracts and manuscripts for publication. Tasks include, but are not limited to: drafting research abstracts, drafting manuscripts, contacting journals, submit manuscripts and abstracts to journals and conferences, addressing journal reviewers comments, creating and disseminating surveys, etc.
