Applicable to Nitec graduates attaining the following ITE qualifications: - Nitec in Social Media & Web Development Course and Entry Requirements For Nitec Graduates To be eligible for consideration for admission to the various polytechnic courses, you must achieve the minimum NET Grade Point Average (GPA) (including CCA bonus points) in your Nitec course for the different polytechnic course durations as shown in Table 1 below. Some polytechnic courses also have additional prerequisites, in addition to the course entry requirements. You must fulfil the additional prerequisites to be considered for the relevant courses. Please refer to the footnotes, if any, for the additional prerequisites. The JPAE in the table(s) below shows the GPA band in which the average (for the last 3 consecutive years) NET GPA of the lowest ranked students who was posted to these courses falls in. These bands are meant as a reference for applicants applying to these courses, and do not constitute the admission GPA for subsequent admission exercises. If a polytechnic course is newly offered under JPAE or a polytechnic course has no ITE intake for the last 3 consecutive years, the JPAE is denoted as -. Admission into the courses of your choice is based on merit and subject to the availability of vacancies. n5 Applicants applying for Mechanical Engineering (N41) from the Higher NITEC IT52 with a GPA of > 3.5 may be granted direct entry to the 2nd year of a 3-year course provided that they pass Bridging Maths 1 at ITE. n6 Applicants applying for Marine and Offshore Technology (N42) from the Higher NITEC IT31, IT60, IT71 with a GPA of > 3.5 may be granted direct entry to the 2nd year of a 3-year course provided that they pass Bridging Maths 1 at ITE. Applicants granted direct entry to Yr 2 are required to take a Year 1 module, Fundamentals of Naval Architecture 2. n7 Applicants applying for Health Sciences (Nursing) (N69) from the NITEC NT45, Higher NITEC IT62, IT79 with GPA of 3.5 will be granted entry to first year with exemption of first 6 months in Year 1 (Course commences in Semester 2). Entry to Year 1 Semester 1 with no exemptions for those with 3.0 < GPA < 3.5. n8 Applicants applying for Electronic & Computer Engineering (N44), Electrical Engineering (N43) from the Higher NITEC IT21, IT22, IT31, IT41 with a GPA of > 3.5 may be granted direct entry to the 2nd year of a 3-year course provided that they pass Bridging Maths 1 at ITE. n9 Applicants applying for Automation and Mechatronics (N50) from the Higher NITEC IT22 with a GPA of > 3.5 may be granted direct entry to the 2nd year of a 3-year course provided that they pass Bridging Maths 1 at ITE. n10 Applicants applying for Aerospace Technology (N65) from the Higher NITEC IT74 with a GPA of > 3.5 may be granted direct entry to the 2nd year of a 3-year course provided that they pass Bridging Maths 1 at ITE. Applicants applying for Aerospace Technology (N65) from the NITEC NT53 will be admitted to the 3-year programmes with module exemptions for relevant modules. n11 Applicants have to pass a medical examination and must be free from physical handicap. r1 Applicants with the following medical conditions should not apply for Diploma in Hotel & Hospitality Management (R37) and Diploma in Restaurant and Culinary Operations (R46) Epilepsy / Fits Hepatitis B/E Physical Disability / Impaired Page 6 of 10

s2 Applicants must ensure that they do not suffer from either colour vision deficiency or hearing deficiency. s3 Applicants suffering from epilepsy will be required to submit a medical report from a Designated Workplace Doctor who will assess their fitness for the posted courses. s4 Applicants suffering from impairments must be prepared to appear for interviews and to undergo any manual dexterity or aptitude tests. s5 Those with GPA of 3.5 or more and passed the Bridging Maths 1 (BM1) programme, or have obtained at least C6 grade in GCE O Level Mathematics, may be admitted to the 2nd year of a 3- year course. t1 Applicants with complete Colour Vision Deficiency are not eligible to apply. t2 Applicants with partial or complete Colour Vision Deficiency are not eligible to apply. t3 For safety reasons, applicants applying for these courses must ensure that they do not suffer from medical conditions such as uncontrolled epilepsy or profound hearing loss. t4 Applicants with severe vision impairment are not eligible to apply. t5 In addition to satisfying the Fitness requirement at the Polytechnic s pre-enrolment medical examination and medical requirements of other regulatory authorities (if applicable), applicants offered a place in T54 (Diploma in Early Childhood Studies) must also be free from physical disabilities. Whilst not comprehensive, the following medical conditions may lead to non-acceptance into the Early Childhood Studies course: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) / Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Active tuberculosis Legal Blindness Page 8 of 10

Mobility restricted Physical dependence upon mobility equipment Profound deafness Psychiatric condition Uncontrolled asthma Uncontrolled diabetes Uncontrolled epilepsy Uncontrolled hypertension t6 The first year in T01 (Business/Logistics & Operations Management/Marketing) is common to all students and they will opt for one of the diplomas (i.e. Diploma in Business, Diploma in Logistics & Operations Management, or Diploma in Marketing) at the end of Year 1. t7 Applicants applying for T09 (Diploma in Law & Management) must also possess at least a B4 grade in English Language (EL1) in the GCE O Level/SPM examinations. t8 The first semester in the following 3-year courses is common to all students and they will opt for one of the diplomas at the end of Semester 1 or 2.
