Next Level Security Systems Cloud Services (NCS) provides centralized, cloud-based configuration and management for individual or multiple Sony IPELA, Gen V and above cameras. Video from Sony IPELA cameras can be monitored from a single user interface. Video from Sony IPELA cameras can be remotely monitored off-site. Video from multiple cameras can be displayed in a single, 2x2 multi-pane view. Events detected by the camera are logged in NCS. Actions, such as notifications, can be configured to launch when a selected event is triggered. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The following requirements must be met to ensure connection between a NCS and Sony Cloud Cameras. Approved Cameras NCS requires the Sony IPELA Cloud Cameras, Gen V and above. NCS Browser Requirements NCS requires supports the following browsers: Firefox (26 or above), Safari (6 or above), Internet Explorer (10 or above), Chrome (30 or above). Sony SNC Toolbox Requirements The Sony SNC Toolbox requires: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional Microsoft Windows Vista (32 bit version only): Ultimate, Business Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit version, 64-bit version): Ultimate, Professional Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit version, 64-bit version): Pro Next Level Security Systems, Inc. 2009-2014 9.00-QS-20140722 1

CONNECTING A CLOUD CAMERA TO NCS Before video from a Cloud Camera can be viewed on NCS, the camera must be connected to the network and configured. Overview of Connecting a Camera to NCS These steps provide an outline of the steps needed to connect a Cloud Camera to NCS. The following sections provide more detailed instructions. 1. Connect the camera to the network. 2. Open the camera s interface in a web browser. 3. Log into the Settings tab. See Configuring a Cloud Cam for NCS for instructions. 4. Open the Date & Time tab. 5. Set the Cloud Camera s time setting to NTP. 6. Enter the Subscription ID (Token) to enable the connection to NCS. 7. Log into NCS. See Logging In to NCS for instructions. Once logged into NCS, video from the camera can be viewed. See Using NCSUsing NCS for more information. This document provides high level instructions for connecting a Cloud Camera to NCS, and viewing video. See the Next Level Cloud Services for Sony IPELA User Manual more detailed instructions on using NCS. Preparing the Cloud Camera These steps are needed to prepare the Cloud Camera to work with NCS: Prepare storage: A feature of the IPELA Cloud Camera is storage of video clips in NCS. An SD card must be installed in the camera. See the Sony documentation for instructions. This documentation is available from http://www.sony.net/products/ipela/. Connect to the network: The Sony SNC Toolbox Utility is used to discover the camera and set its network settings. This utility only runs on Windows, and is included on a CD with the camera. See the Sony documentation for instructions on using the Sony SNC Toolbox. Configure the camera s time setting, and enter a Subscription ID: Before a Cloud Camera can be used with NCS, the time must be set, and a Subscription ID (token) must be added to the camera to allow the NCS to authenticate the camera to the system. Configuring a Cloud Cam for NCS The Cloud Cam s local interface is used to configure the camera. The steps in this section provide general instructions. See the camera s documentation for more details on using this interface. To set the time and add the Subscription ID (token): 1. Open the camera s web interface. 2. Log into the Setting tab on Sony camera interface. The camera s user name and password are used to access these settings. 3. Select the Date & Time page. 4. In the Time Setting field, select Synchronize with NTP. 5. Enter the address for an NTP server. 6. Click OK. Next Level Security Systems, Inc. 2009-2014 3

7. Select the CLOUD option from the Setting menu. 8. Copy and paste the NCS Subscription ID into Token text box. Note: The Subscription ID is furnished by the System's Integrator (SI). 9. Click OK. 10. Check CLOUD service > Enable check box. 11. Click OK. GETTING STARTED WITH NCS After the Cloud Cam is configured, log into NCS to see its video. Logging In to NCS A URL is provided for logging into NCS. 1. In a web browser, enter the URL, including the Account ID, that was created for access to Next Level Cloud Services. 2. Enter the credentials in the login window. a. Name: enter the email address used to create this User account. b. Password: enter the password created for this account. 3. Click Login. The NCS Main Menu is displayed. See the Next Level Cloud Services for Sony IPELA User Manual for more instructions on configuring and using the interface. Using NCS 1. To view a list of Cloud Cameras registered to this NCS account, select Devices > Cloud Cams from the NCS Main Menu. If a desired camera is not listed, browse to that camera s UI, and verify that a Subscription ID has been entered in the Token field. 2. Click Menu to return to the NCS menu. 3. To view video from a camera, select Video > Cameras. a. Select a Cloud Camera from the Device Name list in the left column. 4. Double click on the camera snapshot in the right pane. The video player is displayed. b. Select Tools > Controls to display the video player controls. c. Use Interval Select (1 min. 5 min, etc.), the Playback Timeline and Playhead, and the One Week Timeline, to browse recorded video. 5. Click Live to return to live video. 6.
