What s in the box? Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the contents of your order. Each sensor is identified by a sensor number label. While every Frontpoint system is completely customized, a typical system includes: CONTROL PANEL The Control Panel is the nerve center of your system. It connects wirelessly with all the sensors in your home and communicates with Frontpoint using a secure cellular connection. SENSORS Wireless sensors create the protective shield around your home. These may include sensors for doors, windows, motion, glass breakage, environmental conditions, and more. ACCESSORIES AND SUPPLIES Yard sign, window decals, adhesive strips and screws we include everything you need to round out your system. www.frontpointsecurity.com

Set up your Control Panel The Control Panel is the nerve center of your system. It connects wirelessly with all the sensors in your home and communicates with Frontpoint using a secure cellular connection. WHERE TO PLACE In a central location in your home, above ground. On any flat surface such as a countertop, a tabletop or shelf. In a place where it can plug into an outlet that is NOT controlled by a switch and does not have a test/reset button (i.e. do not use with ground fault interrupted (GFI) outlets). WHERE NOT TO PLACE Next to a window (where an intruder would easily see it from outside). Want to learn more? Visit www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview for more details about system setup. www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview

Set up your Control Panel STEP 1 Activate the battery Connect the backup battery (located on the backside of the panel) by pushing the red connectors together until the metal part of the plug is completely hidden. STEP 2 Plug in the power adapter Plug the power adapter into an outlet that is NOT controlled by a switch. SPECIAL SETUP NOTE Make sure you have plugged the Control Panel s power adapter into an outlet that is NOT controlled by a switch and does not have a test/reset button (i.e. a non-ground fault interrupted (GFI) electrical outlet). www.frontpointsecurity.com

Plan locations for your sensors Using this sensor location sheet, list where you will place all of your sensors (e.g. front door, back door, family room, etc.). We recommend taking time to choose sensor locations prior to setup. Sensor # Location Sensor # Location 01 16 02 17 03 18 04 19 05 20 06 21 07 22 08 23 09 24 10 25 11 26 12 27 13 28 14 29 15 30 SPECIAL SETUP NOTES Each of your sensors has already been numbered Make sure to use the lowest numbered sensors for your doors (e.g. front door). After listing the doors you want protected, list the remaining areasin which your sensors will be placed (e.g. family room, front hallway, kitchen, etc.) Refer back to this page after your activation call, to customize your sensor names. www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview

Intrusion Sensors: Door & Window Sensor The Door & Window Sensor is a small, wireless device that detects the opening and closing of just about anything. This sensor comes with two pieces: the larger piece (transmitter) and the smaller piece (magnet). When placing the two pieces, find the arrow on each and be sure these arrows are as close together as possible (within 3/4 of an inch). WHERE TO PLACE A front or back door Any ground floor door or window Within ~100 feet of the Control Panel Anything that opens and closes (e.g. medicine or gun cabinet, drawer, etc.) SETUP TIPS Prior to setting up your Door & Window Sensors, turn on the chime feature on your Control Panel. (See the Your Control Panel guide to learn about chimes. ) The adhesive included with your sensors is industrial-grade. Make sure each sensor is in the correct location before firmly securing. Want to learn more? Visit www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview for more details about system setup. www.frontpointsecurity.com

Intrusion Sensors: Door & Window Sensor For Doors: STEP 1 Prep the surface Locate the appropriate place for your sensor. Make sure the surface is clean and dry. STEP 2 Place the sensor Place the transmitter on the door frame. If your door frame has decorative molding, it may be easier to place the transmitter on the door itself and the magnet on the door frame. Before firmly securing the sensor, make sure it is in the correct position. Remove the wax backing from the adhesive strip Press the sensor firmly in place and hold for about 30 seconds Transmitter Magnet Preferred Sensor Setup (with transmitter on the door frame) or Optional Sensor Setup (with magnet on the door frame) www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview

Intrusion Sensors: Door & Window Sensor For Windows: STEP 1 Prep the surface Locate the appropriate place for your sensor. Make sure the surface is clean and dry. STEP 2 Place the sensor Place the transmitter on the window frame. If your window frame has decorative molding, it may be easier to place the transmitter on the door itself and the magnet on the door frame instead. Press the sensor firmly in place and hold for about 30 seconds * Standard Window Transmitter Magnet Preferred Sensor Setup or Optional Sensor Setup SETUP TIP * If you have double-hung windows, go to: www.frontpointsecurity.com/customer and learn more. www.frontpointsecurity.com

Intrusion Sensors: Motion Sensor The wireless Motion Sensor detects people moving across a room and can secure larger common areas (e.g. a living room, a hallway, a basement, etc.). WHERE TO PLACE In a central room or corridor of your home 4 to 5 feet off the ground Adhered on a wall, in a corner or on a shelf Within ~100 ft of the Control Panel SPECIAL TIPS FOR PET OWNERS Do not set up a Motion Sensor in a room frequented by any pet (over 40 lbs). Do not set up a motion sensor that points at (or is near) an elevated surface that a pet may be able to jump onto (e.g. a bed, a couch, etc.) Multiple small pets that group together may appear larger to a Motion Sensor and can trigger a false alarm. Want to learn more? Visit www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview for more details about system setup. www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview

Intrusion Sensors: Motion Sensor STEP 1 Prep the surface Locate the appropriate place for your sensor. Make sure the surface is clean and dry. STEP 2 (TWO PLACEMENT OPTIONS) Place the sensor flat on the wall To place on a wall, attach two strips of adhesive to the flat back surface of the sensor Place the sensor in the corner of a wall To place in a corner, attach two strips of adhesive to the rear corner surfaces of the sensor (marked with removable white stickers) NOTE The sensor light turns on only during test mode. To test, remove and replace the back cover. Within 60 seconds, leave the sensor area, then walk across the room. When the light illuminates, the sensor is working properly. After 60 seconds of inactivity, the sensor will return to regular operation. www.frontpointsecurity.com

Intrusion Sensors: Glass Break Sensor The Glass Break Sensor protects large windows, sliding glass doors and rooms with multiple windows, by detecting the unique sound frequency of breaking glass. WHERE TO PLACE Between 4 20 feet from the window being protected Mounted on a wall or ceiling, or simply resting on a shelf WHERE NOT TO PLACE Directly on a window Near an air compressor In a stairwell or room smaller than 100 square feet In rooms with excessive white noise (e.g. smaller rooms with fans, kitchens, garages, etc.) In rooms with high humidity Want to learn more? Visit www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview for more details about system setup. www.frontpointsecurity.com/support-overview
