About Us The Management University of Africa (MUA) is a premier private university that aims at providing innovation, leadership and management solutions to industries and communities in Africa and beyond. The distinct focus of the Management University of Africa is to be the centre of excellence in capacity building in management, leadership, governance and entrepreneurship. MUA is Located on Popo Road, South C Nairobi, Kenya. The University also owns 80 acres of land in Kisaju, Kitengela for future development. Our Programmes The Management University of Africa offers programmes that are competitive and have a two pronged approach making them both academic and practical. In addition, the programmes offered at MUA have a national relevance and at the same time, a global perspective. Pre-University This is a one academic year bridging Programme that allows entry into our undergraduate Programmes after successful completion and attaining the minimum required. Entry Requirements Mean grade C plain in KCSE or equivalent with C- in English and Mathematics or 4 upper level passes in GCE or 4 O level passes in IGCSE or Division III in KCE or 1 Principal pass in KACE. 2
3 Undergraduate Programmes Bachelor of Management and Leadership (BML) Options: Business Administration and Management. Marketing Management. Human Resources Management. Purchasing and Supplies Management. Course Overview MUA s Bachelor of Management and Leadership (BML) programme has been developed with the understanding that as the need to have well managed institutions in the society increases, it necessitates relevant management and leadership programmes to meet the merging demands both in the public and private sector. With this in mind, MUA s BML programme focuses on the development of management and leadership skills and is designed to equip students with the skills they need to transform their organisation and make a lasting impact in their chosen field. Career Opportunities Students who complete the BML programme have a number of career and academic progression options. The BML programme will equip students with the necessary skills to launch their careers in Strategic Management, Organisational Leadership and entrepreneurship. The programme offers a good foundation to several postgraduate courses in Business, Strategic Planning, Strategic Management and Leadership among others.
Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies (BDS) Options: Entrepreneurship Development Environmental Management Economic Development specialization Project Management Course Overview The Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies (BDS) program has been developed from the understanding that there is increasing demand for professionals who can be able to initiate and mobilize communities to participate in the facilitation of their own development. The BDS programme resonates with the needs of the devolved government as stipulated in the constitution; which stipulates the need to have the people involved in the community development agenda. The programme is therefore designed to address very fundamental aspects of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), the emphases on Gender equality and development of women, Vision 2030, and in addressing skills gaps in development studies. Career Opportunities The BDS programme prepares students for careers and opportunities in the following fields; Development finance Monitoring and Evaluation Public Administration 4

STUDENTS ASSESSMENT MODES Student assessment will be based on; Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) Work Based Assessment (WBA) End of semester written examination SEMESTER DATES January-April May - August September - December FACILITIES State of the Art Classrooms Our classes are fitted with interactive smart boards that enables the lecturers integrate a variety of classroom technologies into one format. The result is increased engagement in the class sessions. Library The Management University of Africa library operates a hybrid system stocking both electronic and print resources. The library boasts of an extensive array of resources that provide relevant and authoritative up to date information. With over 8,900 print volumes comprising of core texts, entertainment, inspirational and motivational literature, and over 40 electronic databases and open educational resources, the library is a hub of knowledge for our students, faculty and staff. 7
With multi-media computers and a collection of online and instructional videos, our students learning experience is extended from the lecture halls to the library. In addition, the library employs the EZProxy Authentication system that offers off-campus access to its wide array of e-journals and e-books thus enabling students and staff to access these resources from the comforts of their homes or offices. The library offers a conducive study environment and has a seating capacity of over 200. Internet Services Information technology plays an integral role in teaching and learning. The Management University of Africa enjoys 24 hour internet connectivity across the campus through our network of computers. The University also has hotspots throughout its campus. Transport The University offers transport for students from the town centre to our South C campus, at a small fee. Accommodation The University does not offer accommodation. However, students can make their own arrangements for accommodation. A list of accommodation facilities is available at the office of the Dean of Students. Application Fees: KES: 2,000 (USD30) non-refundable Tuition Fees: KES: 9,500 per unit per semester. (The fee is exclusive of administrative charges). 8
