PHCC ACADEMY OF SAN DIEGO TRAINING PROGRAMS The p-h-c industry is currently lacking the necessary skilled labor to supply all facets of work in progress. Without training, this problem will only increase. The PHCC is helping secure the industry's future. The contractor will be a more competitive force, and the community will benefit from improved quality of finished work. Educated and professional workers are in high demand in the p-h-c industry. The PHCC Training Programs offer the individual a chance to "earn while you learn." The programs combine classroom training courses with on-the-job training. This method of education allows individuals to combine real life experiences with applied knowledge. Students are employed by contractor sponsors who provide on-the-job experience. PLUMBING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM The Plumbing Apprenticeship Program is approved by the Office of Apprenticeship, Department of Labor. It teaches us why our plumbing fails. Also to properly installing piping, vents fixtures, etc With this knowledge, we can reduce these future problems and in return protecting our communities from health issues and damages. I believe every p lumber needs this type of training and to continue their training as often as possible. This will strengthen our industry. Lani Testa, My Plumber CA Not only is the PHCC Educational Foundation helping to shape the industry's future, but the hands on training and the most up to date code information forces our students to be prepared for our ever changing industry and our market place. The students are able to start from scratch and learn proper habits from the beginning that allows them to take pride in their craftsmanship. The level of knowledge that our students have acquired has dramatically improved their confidence in the presence of their peers and our customers. If your goal is to protect the health and safety of the nation then I recommend that you enroll in the PHCC apprenticeship program because education is the only way! I hope to see you next year! Harley Perry, Perry Plumbing I have been fortunate to have been involved with the PHCC Apprenticeship training program since its inception in 2008. Through the years, there has been tremendous growth of the program, from 1 plumbing instructor to 6 and 2 HVAC instructors, from a 1,000sf shop to an over 4,500sf training facility. I have seen firsthand just how good all our instructors are. The quality and understanding of the industry they possess have been invaluable to the PHCC and to the students in our classes. I commend the PHCC for stepping up to the plate and starting this very much needed educational program for our industry. The students I have sent through this program have improved in many ways. They have increased their knowledge and have a solid foundation and understanding of the plumbing & HVAC trades. Their grasp of the codes and installation procedures have improved tremendously. In addition to their technical skills and experience, their confidence has improved more than I ever expected; developing into successful and professional technicians. All of my students are quickly becoming top plumbers in my company, and all have expressed to me how much they have learned and appreciate being part of this apprenticeship program. Thank You PHCC
